In laws!

My parents. It would never be an option with the inlaws.

If I had to choose, my parents, only because my inlaws smoke. Excluding that, they are equal in terms of level of care.

My parents, only because my MIL smokes in the house and I don't trust her to not do that when I'm not there. My mom smokes, but she always goes outside and wears an outside coat that she takes off before touching my daughter. She also washes her hands after she smokes.

My parents for sure. I talk to my mom so much and she's around so much she understands exactly how we do things. And she's very up on all the latest safety recommendations (she worked at a school for 20 years so she's extremely comfortable with the idea of changing norms vs. "I did it this way with my kids so its fine).

My FIL... just no.

My MIL is good with LO but she doesn't seem particularly interested in learning how we do things (how the bottle warmer works, how to change a cloth diaper). And she's extremely tied to the way her daughter does things with our nephew. Like because my SIL does it, its fine for our kid too. Also she is really reliant on screen time. She was just with us for 10 days and we told her multiple times we don't want to do screen time with our 7mo yet. But multiple times when I handed LO over to get something done, if LO got fussy she would pull out her phone and turn on mickey mouse or something. I just let it go because it didn't seem worth a confrontation when she isn't around much, but DH kept reminding her to put the phone away.

My parents, hands down. DS is more familiar with my parents and they're way more capable of being left alone with him. MIL seems at a loss when she's with DS if he gets fussy. She was constantly handing him back to me when he was littler. And she hasn't spent much time with him in months. FIL is pretty good with him and I feel comfortable letting him watch him while I'm around, like at a family party. But I just don't think I'd have him over to babysit while we're out. Maybe I'm just a control freak .

No kids yet, but both of our parents are sooo excited for grandkids and I know that they will all be great with them. We are pretty lucky!

I think both sets would do a good job, but my MIL has really bad asthma so that could be of concern if the boys wants to play crazily with her. Both Moms would ensure safety so I'm never too concerned with that.

We are fine with both, but even my MIL admits that my mom is much more competent! My mom has been the full time daycare for our 3 nieces for the last 10 years, is a nurse and is very young at heart. Our LO will be going to my mom when I go back to work when she is 10 months old.
MIL is a great evening babysitter, couple of hours type thing, especially right now when she is just little.

Either set would be wonderful! My parents live out of town so L isn't as comfortable with them, that would be the only issue. BUT, my parents are a bit more fun and silly so the kids might have more fun with them?

Either. They're both fantastic! We are lucky for that.

Both sets are great, so either one! We really lucked out with good grandparents, but unfortunately they are thousands of miles away

My parents, specifically my mom: they live close to us, so they know LOs routine, preferences, etc. So much so that if she can't watch them, we cancel our plans.

My parents...DH's aren't an option.

Both are great but I prefer my parents because my mom is the only one who can get the girls to sleep.

My mom. I still don't love that (I'm thinking maybe it'll be better when he's older), but his mom is a lot older and that makes me a little nervous.
