I would rather let my daughter decide when she wants her ears pierced. When she feels she wants them pierced then i'll take her.

If we have a daughter in the future (fingers crossed!) we'll have them done within the first few months.... I had mine done the day after I was born =)

Yes. I want to pierce her ears before she turns 1.

I haven't read any of the answers yet, but I pierced my daughters ears when she was 6 months old. *shrugs* Taking care of a piercing isn't going to teach her responsibility. That's what chores and pets are for. lol We do a lot of things for our kids that they don't have a say in.
Plus, there are many many cultures on the planet that pierce their little girls ears without asking them. If she doesn't like them when she's older, she can take them out. It's not like you are getting her a tattoo.

I feel bad for all the people who put so much energy in something that has nothing to do with them. You feel bad for my daughter or you hate seeing it? That's a problem you need to work out on your own.

Pierced ears on babies makes me feel bad for them actually. To put a baby through any kind of unnecessary pain for fashion is unacceptable for myself and our family. It's not like earrings won't be around when she is old enough to ask for them. I also won't let her get a boob job or pierce her nose as an infant so at least I'm consistent haha I should mention that I don't even have pierced ears because I never wanted them. I just don't like the look. So imagine my horror if my mother subjected me to that when I had no say.
