I have a September baby (well.. She's almost 4
Summer 7-9 months pregnant sucked though.
I also have a January baby, and she was 6-8 months her first summer. Kind of nice because she could sit and crawl.
We are thinking of a third and I have no idea when I want to "try" next year!

I quite enjoyed having a fall baby. The summer sucked but it was easier to dress in maxi dresses and not worry about coats or slipping on icy sidewalks. About to have a late summer (end of August/early September) baby. The only thing was the worry about cold/flu season with a newborn.

I would rather be pregnant but I'm in the Seattle area so it's not super hot in the summer. And it's easy to dress cool for maternity wear. And I enjoyed having a fall baby and being cozied up inside. I feel like I would get so hot nursing a newborn for extended periods of time in the summer

I have a Feb baby and a July baby. The July baby was rough...it was so hot during the last trimester!
I personally want to avoid a fall baby because of the school cutoff dates here. I was a fall baby though! (October!)

I was super pregnant during the summer with my early October baby and I thought that was tough.... until we went on a long trip to Puerto Rico with a 2 month old. Carrying the baby around in the carrier, nursing under a cover, and just generally making sure DD wasn't overheating was awful. I would way rather just me be miserable and hot than the baby. We are having a November baby with #2 and I think the timing is perfect.

Being pregnant in the summer was tough, but I love having an early October baby! I was pregnant for one calendar year and she arrived in time for all the holidays. I've been debating going for another October due date. I just wouldn't want to have two kids share a birthday.

I loved having a March baby! I was able to lose weight before getting back in the pool and I was just ready to get out and about well after cold and flu season.

I wouldn't want a newborn for the whole summer. I find the first 3 months with a baby the hardest and I'd like to feel I'm in my groove by summer, not being in a sleep deprived haze. That being said, I'd love for my baby to have a summer birthday so I'm still hoping for it to happen if we have a third. My ideal time to have a baby is August. So far I have a November and February baby and I've been happy. They just won't ever get pool parties for their birthdays.

I'm nearly 9 months pregnant now and dealing with 100+ temps. I don't mind it at all! Sure it's hot, but I have access to some great pools and k really love sun dresses, maxi dresses and fancy flip flops. I can't imagine what I'd have to do while pregnant in the winter. Seems it would be harder to bundle up while carrying around a big belly.

@youboots: Funny, I'm not loving having a March baby - I wish I could put sunscreen on him because we're outside all the time so I'm always worried about keeping him covered without overheating him.

I loved having my DD in September! I'm very newly pregnant and due in March...I'm really dreading being pregnant in the winter since the area I live in has harsh winters. Like others have said, I don't mind being hot while pregnant but having a newborn while it's so hot out seems tough. The upside is having a newborn at the end of cold/flu season vs the beginning.

@erinbaderin: it probably depends on the climate. We only have 90+ temp days 2-3 weeks a year.

I'm thinking we'd like a fourth January baby. By the time the nice weather hits baby is on a schedule, can sit up and crawl, wear sunscreen, go in the pool.
So I pick pregnant I guess. But maybe second tri, early third tri. No July babies for me.

I am expecting my second Sept baby and my other LO was born in May. I think its easier to be pregnant in the summer than have a newborn, especially when there are older siblings that want to get out and do things. I much prefer third trimester in 95 degree heat. If I could do it again though I'd probably pick November - February for a due date.

I'm 30 weeks pregnant and it's hot as balls outside, so I would rather have a newborn in warmer weather. I waspregnantthroigh the summer last time too and it was somewhat misreable also.

I had an October and 2 April babies and I loved my April babies best. My October baby started daycare in January and got sick the first week and had a very sick few months. I would much rather deal with the heat in pregnancy and with a newborn than dealing with the winter sickness.

Where I live, September is still fully summer. That being said, since my first was the September baby being pregnant in summer wasn't so horrendous because I didn't have to go outside if I didn't want to lol I really really loved having an April baby though. The weather was fine basically the entire pregnancy!

We will try for another January/February baby. Morning sickness in the summer is rough, but I loved having my maternity leave in the spring, introducing solids during the peak harvest, and getting him in the pool early.

I've had it both ways. My first is a late August baby. It was a miserable summer pregnant, okay fall because he was colicky. My second is a late May baby. We were out and about early on and got to enjoy the summer much more. I'd vote newborn because late summer pregnant is tough. The winter was tougher with the second because I was bigger, but worth it for an early summer baby.

I think a spring baby would be ideal. You're not pregnant in the horrible heat, baby misses cold and flu season, and the weather is pleasant for maternity leave, then you're in a good groove when summer hits. My first baby was a Nov baby and I planned to aim for April/May with my second. We had a whoops and got another Nov baby. Funny enough my Bro/SIL whose older LO is also a Nov baby also had a whoops and their second one was born 48 hours after mine. We were destined for Nov babies only I guess!

DD was 2-5 months during the summer of 2015 which was a scorcher for us and it was hard, since we don't have AC. But it was okay, we used a lot of fans and survived. I think 3rd tri would have been easier though; me and my PEPS friends were all fairly worried about SIDS etc since there was just no way to cool down our babies' nurseries.

I'm due with an August baby, and weather wise it seems like it's the worst of all worlds. It's been in the 90s here and I'm hot so much of the time, even my office AC didn't feel like it's cutting it. In a couple weeks the baby will be here and then we won't be able to do much outside the first few weeks if these temps keep up. On the plus side once September hits we should be able to enjoy getting out and about.
LO1 was a Novembwr baby. The heat over the summer didn't bother me much, but it was cold when he born and then holiday and flu season when he was a tiny.
If I could choose I'd pick May, but that train has left the station, lol.

I'd choose being pregnant during the summer to having a newborn in the hot weather. My daughter is an end of August baby. Last summer was rough, but I hate hot weather to begin with, so being pregnant didn't make me hate it much more. I loved being able to look forward to cooler weather with the little one and not having to melt every time I wore her (which was all day for the first 2-3 months).

DD was born in June and it's definitely not fun right now! You can't really do much because it's hot and you have a newborn. I would much rather have been pregnant during the summer, I never found pregnancy made me that hot either.

I have a May baby and an August baby, the May baby was perfect timing. I got preg in mid-August and he came may 6. Baby wearing was a little warm, but other than that I love it. 32-41 weeks pregnant in the summer was not my fave.

My youngest was a July baby so I was very heavily pregnant until late July, then had a newborn the rest of the summer. It was lovely, really. I learned the value of air con, that's for sure, but I have lovely memories of nursing my baby to sleep on warm summer evenings, a cool fan in the background,

I think if it's your first, 3rd tri in the summer is better but being in the 3rd tri and taking care of a toddler in the summer would be harder for me than having a newborn in the summer.

@autumnleaves: agree. I had lo2 in June but we had a few really hot weeks before he came and I was miserable. My toddler still wanted to go out and play but I couldn't handle the heat. As soon as I want pregnant anymore my heart tolerance changed overnight! It's rough for baby wearing but manageable with ac. And I can take my toddler outside to play while the baby sleeps.

I have an early July baby and I loved it. I didn't find it too warm at all (mind you last summer wasn't exceptionally hot) and I loved being outside/taking him out without worrying if he would be too cold or catch an illness (I realize you can still get sick in the summer) but cough/cold/flu is much less rampant. I also love having summer/outdoor birthday party's. I wouldn't focus as much on the first year as I would long term. That being said, I think most months have pros/cons but I didn't find the summer "too hot", by an means. Good luck!

Hugely pregnant or a baby in May or June. We have a pool and I wouldn't want to miss out on swimming in July or August bc of post partum issues.

I have one DS born in late Aug and one DS born in mid June. In a perfect world, I think a March or April baby is perfect (at least in the NE).
Aug baby- I'm a teacher, so I didn't have to work the last few months of my pregnancy for my Aug baby. When it was hot, I stayed inside. I could swim and enjoy the summer. The weather turned cool so it was ideal for babywearing. The weather was perfect for my maternity leave.
With my June baby, I can't swim yet (till I'm 6 weeks PP). That sucks. I don't want to take my newborn to the beach yet. Baby wearing is hot during this time of year! But, having a June bday will rock forever!! And I was "comfortable" in the weather until the last week of pregnancy.
Since this will be #3 for you, I vote for s late winter/spring baby do you can fully enjoy the summer weather with your older kids.

I'm 37+3 (that three is really important to me) right now and it sucks to try to muster up the energy to play with my poor three year old. We don't have easy access to a beach or pool, and we only have window AC units in the bedroom. All the fun outdoor stuff requires a decent amount of walking, which is getting pretty painful for me at this point. I hate the end of pregnancy no matter what, but coupled with caring for a toddler in the summer it's pretty brutal.
I will say, I'm also aware that nursing/wearing a sweaty newborn will be tough in the heat- but at least I won't be pregnant any more.
I think next time I may start trying For an October or November baby. I could probably deal with second trimester/early third in the summer time.

Well, I guess I have technically done both since I gave birth in July and was hugely pregnant up until then. I would have to say it was worse to be pregnant since we were mostly home during the newborn days. Next time, we are hoping for an early spring baby for a few reasons: morning sickness over the summer, not huge over summer, not worried about a newborn getting overheated in 110 temps, on maternity leave toward the end of the school year and not the beginning (that SUCKED!,) and I would be able to just take the rest of the school year off and be starting back up with everyone else.

I have a June baby and I'm about to have a September baby. I much preferred a summer newborn. I didn't immediately need to worry about how to keep him warm when we went out and he just lived in a diaper or onesies at first. We could go for early walks before it got too hot.
It's in the 90s here and I can't help with yard work or be outside for long without feeling like I'm going to pass out. The upside is I can live in running shorts and tank tops, though! And lots of swimming!

@sorrycharlie: I had 2 summer newborns... it sucks not being able to go out because of heat advisories, but pregnancy is super hot, too.
