A friend is mine is turning 41 soon. She has one child but hasn't been able to conceive a second for five years now, and is looking into IVF. She looked into shared risk programs, but most of them only accept women who are 39 years old or younger!

She had two questions and I thought I'd ask you all for advice:

1. Are there any shared risk programs in the NYC area willing to take on women older than 39?

2. Is there such a thing as an IVF consultant who can walk her through the various IVF options and success rates? It doesn't have to be an RE - even just talking to someone who knows this stuff would be really valuable to her, I think. Do IVF counselors/consultants exist? Every time I google "IVF counselor", I see mostly links about genetic counselors.
