I am seriously loving all the already this month. So I have a question for you guys and I am pretty sure it is totally TMI, so sorry in advance

I am not temping this month and relying only on CM and OPKs. I am on CD 18, with totally random cycle lengths month to month. Been getting all negatives on wondfo OPKs so far, but CM today seems fertile.

So question is - how many days do you typically get EWCM? and how soon before a positive OPK (or O if you temp)?

Figuring I should just BD storm just in case, but storming with a toddler who sleeps like sh*t is a challenge in itself.

@Mrs. Confetti: I usually have 2-3 days of true EWCM, with wet or almost EWCM a few days before that too. Are the OPKs getting darker now, even though not positive yet?

  4. Mrs. Confetti

    blogger / pomegranate / 3491 posts

@runnerd: OPKs are a tiny bit darker but still not positive. Hopefully tomorrow I guess. It is amazing how in tune with your body TTC makes you...

@Mrs. Confetti: I did the same in terms of tracking. I would start OPKs as soon as I got a sign of EWCM but I would typically get 3-4 days of it before the positive OPK. Hope a positive comes soon for you!

I'm nervous ladies. I had blood work done Friday, and have another round on Monday. Should know results Tuesday or Wednesday. My husband just got home from being out of town, so naturally I wanted to show him a test. I did a digital and a FRER, they are both positives, but the FRER is a lot lighter than it was yesterday/this morning. Does this mean something is wrong? Here's a picture of the first one and the 3rd one (the one I just did). The second picture is of the digital and the FRER I just did. I'm trying to stay positive but it's hard!

@Littlebit: I would say it's probably because your pee was more diluted/less concentrated for this test or that there are different amounts of dye in each test so sometimes the same type of test ends up lighter. The tests aren't really meant to indicate how much HCG is in your system, just that there is HCG if that makes sense. I wouldn't worry just yet until you get your beta numbers back.

@MrsKoala: Thanks that is so helpful to hear! I haven't ever done OPKs and I started day 10 just in case, so I am getting impatient after a week + of negatives...even though I'm sure (or at least hoping) that it will happen eventually.

@Littlebit: I agree and have heard the same thing that @MrsKoala: said so try not to worry as hard as that might be until you get your betas back I'm wishing you the best of luck

@Littlebit: Thinking positive thoughts for you! I would stop testing until you get your results - no sense making yourself so stressed if you can help it.... (((hugs)))

@Littlebit: I don't think you can compare different times of day with different hold times. so I'd say do another tomorrow and see how it looks with FMU. they say not to read tests in terms of darkness but I have had it be pretty accurate on FRERs (at least with FMU) for both my success and my CPs.
fingers and toes crossed that you have nothing to worry about! hugs friend

I'm 5DPO, and just noticed a tiny drop of blood in my undies (sorry if tmi). Seems early for implantation bleeding. Slightly worried. However, I got positive smiley clearblue opk at 2am, and I think I ovulated a day before FF says. This would make today 6DPO. Who knows.

@Littlebit: I totally agree with the others about being more diluted with today's test. Try not to worry

  16. Mrs. Amethyst

@Mrs. Confetti: I usually got 3-4 days of true EWCM before a positive OPK. I would definitely start BDing at least EOD once you see fertile CM.

@Littlebit: Like others have said, I wouldn't compare two tests like that. A line is a line, and yours are all positive. You're in my thoughts, and hope your blood test gives you good results!

Caved this morning with a FRER - bfn. I know 10dpo is early but I just feel like this cycle isn't it. Feeling a bit sad since I had this hopeful image of not needing to start meds next cycle. But I have a treatment plan with an RE I really like so happy about that. I'll probably test one more time if I make it a couple more days with no spotting.

@Littlebit: I hope everything comes back quickly and super positively! I wonder if it is with mentioning to your doctor that you are particularly nervous and see if they can expedite the rest results. I feel like some people on here get them within hours so hopefully it is a possibility.

@dc yoga bee: I hope it is implantation! I know nothing about it but it seems like a possibility.

I am happy because last month I started spotting by 8 dpo, I am now 11 dpo and my temperature is still high and no spotting. I tested yesterday at 10 dpo and it was a blatant negative on frer and negative followed by an evap on a dollar tree test. I was excited until I found out that especially recently they have been giving crazy evaps. I peed in a cup this morning but I am too nervous or something to test. AF is due tomorrow and my husband leaves tomorrow evening for a trip so I will test at some point before then.

@bhbee: Fingers crossed for you, I just had a friend tell me that she tested at 10 dpo with a negative and she was convinced she was out since she was cramping and felt like she had PMS but then got a bfp at 13 dpo. The good news is either way you have a plan to get a baby in your arms in the quickest way possible!

@bhbee: 10 DPO is def still early, chin up lady!!

@Cole: you crazy lady, I couldn't hold out like that for what it's worth my BFP this month started with a day of evap looking shadow lines the day before my true positive

@runnerd: @littlek: @Kate6214: Boo, negative on a dollar store test. I have some frer but there isn't even a shadow there so I will probably wait to use one of those.

eta- OK so there is a faint shadow if I squint and turn the test sideways right at the ten minute mark. It seems silly to try frer with the same urine so when should I try again? I am out of cheapie tests so it will be frer or fr digital.

Thanks for the feedback everyone. I feel better about it this am. Haven't tested this am because I ran out of tests..that tends to happen with you use 7 within a 2 day period I'm too nervous to join the July mamas thread yet. I have to wait until I get results Tuesday or Wednesday.

@Cole: FRER was more sensitive for me than dollar general, I'd try one if you have the FMU still

  31. Cole

    grapefruit / 4649 posts

@runnerd: @littlek: No luck, I tried it but it was negative. I am still hopeful but I am going to wait until tomorrow to try again. In the mean time I will be obsessively checking for spotting.

  32. mlm2934

    grapefruit / 4311 posts

@Cole: bummer, I'm rooting for you!! I know this is horrible advice to be giving, but let me know if you get evap on the FRER. Any time I've had a FRER evap, it turned into BFP later

  33. Cole

    grapefruit / 4649 posts

@runnerd: Ha! I took it apart and buried it under coffee grounds! If I held it up to the light I could see where the line should be but there was no color whatsoever.

I have been getting evaps on the dollar tree tests for a few days now so I am assuming they don't mean anything since they haven't been getting progressively darker. I checked and they were all the same batch too.

I feel so funny today, the suspense is killing me, I just want a bfp or af to become obvious.

I love all the cite ideas people come up with for telling their husbands they are pregnant and I was totally stumped for an idea until right now though. We lived abroad for a year and from my favorite ship I bought a frame that is very baby-ish just because I liked it so when the time comes I will tuck a note from the baby in it and show him what I found.

@Cole: I'm with you on obsessively checking for spotting!! Unfortunately, yesterday wasn't my day either. I'm on CD36 and still getting BFNs and no AF in sight. I'm starting to think I'm just having a crazy long cycle as a result of going off BC back in August. I have more CM than usual but I am trying to curb my symptom spotting.

Interestingly, my mom was in town for the weekend and I asked her about her own TTC experience, which we've never discussed before. Turns out she tried for a long time, including one m/c and a pre-term labor where she lost a baby at 24 weeks. She ended up using Clomid to conceive both my brother and me. For some reason it gave me some confidence that even if it's not super easy, it will happen eventually.

@loopedd: Did you go off BC this past August? I know my body was all out of whack for a couple months after going off it... I stopped last December. The first cycle was 40 days and the second cycle was 62 days. Even since then, I'll think my cycle is regulating and then I'll end up Oing really late. Have you been using OPKs or temping or anything to know exactly when you Oed?

  38. loopedd

    kiwi / 536 posts

@LindsayInNY: I did! Took my last pill in July, officially. My cycles have been around 32 days, last month 28. I don't think I O'ed the first cycle, but got positive OPKs the second and third cycles around CD20. For some reason I can't get myself to keep up with temping. I'm thinking everything is still wonky from the BC for sure though!

  39. Cole

    grapefruit / 4649 posts

@loopedd: Do you know when you ovulated? I have crazy cm too which (tmi) keeps sending me to the bathroom to see if it is spotting. It's nice that you were able to chat with your mom about her experience. I have never brought it up because I am fairly certain out of the four of us only my brother was planned and even that I wouldn't put money on. Plus, she would guess then that we are trying and I am not ready to spill the beans. I hope that you have a different destiny ahead!

@Cole: Ugh so frustrating, but hey, your chart looks amazing btw! FX for you! And I think that frame with a baby note is a great idea. Speaking of jinx's from before, I decided I can't buy anything baby related until I see a BFP, ahh I can't wait to buy cute reveal things for my parents/siblings!

@loopedd: Ahh, regulating after BC is so annoying! I still feel like mine is all over the place and this is my 6th cycle. Hoping you get answers soon! FX!
