3 years, but my husband is not American, so he usually has no idea about pop culture stuff.

@marionberry: Wow, you're the first one to beat me in this thread! In the immortal words of Aaliyah, age ain't nothing but a number.

DH is 50 weeks older than me. So for 2 weeks a year, we're the same age!

DH is 3 years younger.... I feel like he will NEVER turn 30... ahhh.... (he'll be 30 next year, finally!)

He's 6 1/2 years older than me, for the most part we get the same references but every once in awhile I look at him like WTH when talking about something Music & TV shows are where we usually differ.

We were born in the same year but DH is older. I like to point this fact out a lot

@Ms.Line @Marionberry DH is 13 years older than me so I am in the club with you!! It is a total non issue for us and always has been. I'm 28 and he is 41 - he looks a lot younger and he is very energetic, always on the go and up for anything (more so than me, even) - so I don't really feel like I'm with someone who is older! His dad is the same way, he is 72 and you would never guess it. He is busy and active and I think it keeps him young.
We are expecting baby #1. Sometimes I worry a little about down the road - like when I am late 50s and he's 70 - that seems like that's when the age difference might "feel" bigger. But, we love each other and we are committed so I think we'll be okay. He knows he has to take good care of himself so he'll be around for me

I'm the older one by 3 yrs and 2 months...
This thread is cementing the trend I have noticed - women in the US seem to marry men who are the same age or older than them, whereas most of my friends/acquaintances overseas are in relationships where the woman is the older one! Just my experience, but it is a very strong trend I have noticed in my day to day interactions....

@mrbee: DH is a few months shy of being 4 years older than me. It's not a noticeable age gap at all.

@mrs. wagon: 11 days younger! Those 11 days are always super annoying

DH is five months older than me but graduated high school the year before me.

I'm a bit older than LO but he knows all the same stuff because he had an older brother. We had the same group of adult friends that had a span of ages so we all kinda relate the same.

@Ree723: Haha, I am the older one in my relationship, I'm an American married to a European.
I think age and age difference is more a "thing" with Americans for some reason. I don't know why.

@MrsADS: Agreed, our age difference isn't much of an issue, either. My husband takes pretty good care of himself - most people think we're the same age! (Which I'm always mildly insulted by.) I am a bit concerned about our future with kids - we're struggling with IF and don't even have one yet - he will probably be in his late 40s if/when have #2. Both he and I had parents who died young, and I'm really sensitive to the fact that I want him to be around for our children as long as possible!

My husband is 8-9 years younger than me, depending on time of year. I found out recently he had no idea who Wilson Philips is! Funny things like that come up all the time and make me feel so old!

8 months. He was born in January and I was born in August of the same year. It's kind of neat, we both graduated high school and college in the same years.
But we didn't meet until we were in our mid 30's.

@Torchwood: @mrs. wagon: @Mrs. Tiger: Gotcha beat! I'm 2 days older than my husband.... and it definitely factored into how we ended up dating
