I mostly pumped for the first 3 months and I always said yes!

If it were me, I would probably say I pump because perhaps they see me later feeding lo a bottle (if I said I bf) they might think I lied to them or get even more confused. I also wouldn't say no because then they assume you use formula and that isn't quite fair to you.

I think the level of detail you get into should depend on how close you are to the person. I agree with pps that you are providing breastmilk to LO, you just are doing it in a different way. If people are just being nosy, keep it simple, but obviously go into more detail with those who are sympathetic or deserve the long version.

You're definitely breastfeeding, and I would tell anyone who asks just that. It's no one's business what your delivery system is I think when people ask that, they're curious about whether you're using breastmilk or formula, not that it's any of their business anyway.

I always thought it was so odd how often I asked the question. If I were you I would say yes unless it's someone you're super close with and you want to explain the whole pumping thing.

Yep! I would just tell people you're exclusively pumping.

You're giving her food from your breast so I'd say yes. The only thing I was thinking though, in another thread you said your period came back early and pumping doesn't quite fully empty your breast the same way that nursing does so maybe that was why it came back early? (though I know people who only pumped occasionally and still got their period early), but I can't think of many topics that would people would really need to know the details.
