I feel like I need some perspective on something that happened as I dropped my LO off at daycare today.

Our daycare center is on a large campus that has guarded entry. Since we just enrolled him recently, I don't have my permanent entry pass yet so today I had to first take my LO with me into the visitors' center to get a temporary pass to present to the security officer at the gate.

As I drove up to the security gate after getting my temporary pass, there were several security officers standing around. One of them looked at my LO in the backseat and asked how old he was. I thought the security officer was just being nice, but after I answered, she asked, "did you leave him in the car when you went into the visitor center?" After I said no of course not, she said "Because we saw you come back to the car to get him but didn't see you go in with him." I told her she was more than welcome to check with the clerk in the visitors' center to verify that I had my LO with me.

WTF? I drove away, my face hot with anger. Thinking about it now, I am still livid they would even suggest that, especially since they were making accusations based on something they could only partially observe from several yards away. I don't know what their status is (if they're just security guards or actual law enforcement) so I don't even know if I have a recourse to complain to. Am I being irrational? Would you feel the same way if this happened to you?
