My son used to get up around 6:30/7. Lately, it's 5 a.m. regardless of whether I put him down at his usual bedtime of 7, or later (like 8) or earlier (like 6:30). I would say it's b/c of a cold, but honestly he's been doing it for at least a week or two. He CAN sleep later because he did it over the weekend (he slept til 7). He's 5 months.

I went for an earlier bedtime last night (6:20) and it backfired and he woke up 2 additional times overnight (he usually wakes once) and then was up for the day at 5.

When he wakes at 5 he coos and is not crying. Now, I've tried letting him just hang in his crib and see if he falls back asleep. He doesn't. I've tried going in and feeding him right away and seeing if he will fall back asleep - he will fall asleep for like 30 seconds and then be awake. Regardless I always leave him in his crib til 6.

Anyone else dealing with an early riser? Or did you deal with it? How did you get your baby to sleep a little longer?
