Kindergarten orientation is Friday and I am so nervous - hope DS does well!!

Yup, our 4 year old starts kindergarten in the fall as well!! Where does the time go...

@mrbee: Is he excited about it? I think DS is nervous about it so I keep talking it up to him! Friday he will spend an hour with other kids and the teachers while me and DH hang out with the principal an school nurse!

Yes! DS turns 5 this month. It's so hard for me to come to terms with.

@Mamaof2: he's in pre-K this year so school won't be new... but he'll probably be at a new school and he doesn't like that at all!
The first few months of pre-K were rough on him, but now he seems much more positive on school!

My oldest will start kindergarten this fall! We're going to register him tomorrow. He is so excited and I am so sad. Haha.

@mrbee: DS has been in DCP since he was 5 months old - haha - so its not new to him at all - he always tells me he wants to stay home or go to my work with me -
@HLK208: @Koolbreeze: I know! I think I officially feel like a real mom - if that makes sense! I am going to be a sobbing mess on the 1st day - I told DH he should probably take him!

@Mamaof2: my son also asks to stay home or to go to his old daycare... it's gotten better over the course of the year though!

OMG, I was up last night thinking about kindergarten and my son's not even going this year!
I am really anxious about the transition to a large class in a public school. I am looking forward to hearing how it goes for you and your kids.

@Mamaof2: Oh, I know I'm going to cry my eyes out. DH wants to be there for his first day so he is taking the day off work. I'm pretty happy about that, he'll probably have to drag me out of the school.

My DD is already in Kinder this year, but next year will be the first year she goes to a large public school. I'm pretty nervous! She's super shy and will have to make brand new friends.

@T-Mom: Yeah there is only 1 other kid from DS's class that will be going to the same elementary school as he is and I doubt they will end up being in the same class
