B is 9.5 weeks old and hates to be burped! He's such a hog that the second you take the bottle away he throws a fit and won't sit so you'll lay him back down for more. I've tried letting him go until he naturally stops but he'd easily drink the whole bottle and be spitting it back up at me. Anyone else have this problem?

My niece is like that. Its weird for me to burp her because my lo burped the second she sat up. It was so easy!

My LO did this when he was a baby *ha!* I mean when he was younger.
We asked our doc about this and he told us that it seems like our baby is impaient, and to "fix" that we should let him sip for a couple of minutes and take the bottle away for a couple of mintues and give it back for a couple of minutes and take it away again for a few minutes till LO realizes it's not the end of the world that the milk is gone.
That was unsuccessful but he grew out of it.

@artbee: i wish he did that! Sometimes we will get the fluke burp but is usually a fight.

Yes! LO hated being burped until probably 2 1/2 months. She would scream when you take the bottle out even if she was nearly finished. Once you got the burp out she would be fine. She has gotten better and now will sometimes burp before I even tap her back.

Yup - LO is 4 months and screams when I burp her (usually after one side) and has started making angry impatient cries until I give her the second side. But, if she needs to burp, she goes on and off my breast until I can get the burp out. Either way, she's crying! I can't win...

@Phillybaby2013: How much is he eating at a time? Does he always spit up if you don't burp him in the middle of the bottle? Sadie takes 4oz, and I don't burp her until she finishes. She burps pretty much on her own though. I sit her up and she belches like a man! My nephew tries to eat too fast too, and we just twist the bottle in his mouth, and it breaks the latch for a second, so he gets a little break in the drinking.

@beachbee: My daughter is exactly like this except this behavior just started at 3 months! She has always hated when I take the bottle away to wipe her mouth, but now she screams her head off when I try to burp her. However, she does give a really good burp eventually. Sometimes all I have to do is say the word "burp" or ask nicely "please burp for mommy"!
