There have been a few times over the last couple of months where we have had movie night with our oldest in bed with us, and the intention was for her to sleep in our bed as a treat. Well after about 10 minutes she's asking to go back into her own bed. I feel like that's pretty rare for a kid, but I guess the girl just likes her space! Can anyone relate?

LO2 has never been a fan of bed sharing, even as a baby. He has always slept better in his own space. Now as a 2 year old he thinks we're just playing pretend and always goes back to his bed (or travel crib when we're away).

My 2-yr old has never been into sleeping in our bed, not even if he's sick. He just gets too wired and can't sleep!

My son has never been into cosleeping even as a baby and has only slept with us for a few hours at a time when he's super sick and can't control his body temperature (chills and fever). 98% kid sleeps on his own.

My husband tried to lay in bed with B the other day to help him fall asleep. After about five minutes he said "Daddy, you are a big man. You need your own bed. I will get you a pillow." and put a pillow down on the floor for him.

Our son has slept in our bed twice in his life (he's nearly 2) Both times were when he was sick with a terrible fever. He would much rather sleep on us while we break our backs trying to get comfortable in the glider in his room

Wow!! Unicorn kids! I fully admit that this is my fault but DS can almost never fall asleep for the night unless it's in bed with us to start.

My 3 yo gets too wound up to sleep in our bed, she just can't settle herself. But she always wants us to sleep in her bed with her. If she wakes up during the night one of us (usually DH now) goes and sleeps with her, only way she will go back to sleep. The other day she woke up a little cranky from her nap and I went in and she wanted me to lay down with her, fell asleep snuggled in my arms. It was nice.

@muffinsmuffins ditto for my 12 month old... just wriggles/climbs around in the bed with us when we've tried. But wants to sleep with us cradling him in the glider. Lol. So many times this first year I would have LOVED for him just to lay with me in bed and nap. NOPE! So much more work. Haha. I guess this could change as he gets older.

I have one of those kids who doesn't fall asleep in bed with us. Sometimes my husband can get him to sleep with him, but i have to go sleep on the sofa.

Our two year old wants to have a dance party at 2am if we try to him sleep with us after a night waking, and will be up for hours. Whereas he is back asleep 15min after if we go to his room. So he is not invited to our bed anymore!

@muffinsmuffins: yes, this! I have desperately tried, but she prefers to lay on our chest in the chair.
She prefers to jump/horse around on our bed even in the middle of the night.

Our older son has never slept (after 4 months old) in our bed, so I don't think he even thinks to come and sleep there!

Ds will not sleep with us. Wayyyy to excited to be in our bed. Even when sick it just won't work.

DS1 HATED our bed and wanted nothing to do with it. Until his little brother came a long and we had to cosleep with him for a little while. Now DS1 regularly sneaks into our bed at night. I equal parts love and hate it. Thankfully DS2 is back in his crib.

My daughter won't sleep in our bed unless she's really sick. She won't even let us lie with her while she sleeps and always preferred, from birth, to put herself to sleep.
