This makes me so much more hopeful for baby #2! I keep going back and forwarth thinking that I'll try to breastfeed again, but then do I really want to deal with all of that again, but then it doesn't hurt to try, etc. I also have some friends that were able to breastfeed with baby #2 and not their first. Love hearing those positive stories!

Baby was a nursing champ, she definitely led the way for us. I could have held her upside down and she'd have found a way to nurse. I did get mastitis at 2 weeks after birth but luckily had read about it and after a poorly slept night got on some antibiotics and rested up with baby for the next few days.

I thought (and was told) I might have problems with supply but I never did. I have to say we have had a pretty smooth experience.

Even though it's been a great experience it is still A LOT of work!

not any real problems like latching or soreness, but definitely low milk supply in one breast and LO not liking to suck lying down because of reflux.

Once my milk supply was established we had no problems. No soreness or anything. : )

It hasn't been horrible. I think the lactation consultants at the hospital helped a lot. My issue in the beginning was definitely supply...but milk is finally starting to come in. I have an appt to see a consultant but since I don't seem to really have an issue, I'm thinking of canceling it.

I love how this thread was supposed to be for making it sound not always hard, but it's funny that most of the stories are like, "it was easy but..... (fill in the horrible blank with mastitis, blistering, supply, etc issues).

We had trouble the first week but by the third week it was pretty smooth sailing. I think at one point I almost got thrush (vinegar helped).

Same as you, @mrs.bee! Mastitis, clogged ducts and supply. The latching on wasn't bad for me either.
