My DD is kind of behind right now and I just signed up for ABCmouse.com in desperation -
Anyone here ever use it?
Or if you're an educator - any thoughts on the program?

My daughter uses it. She'll be 3 at the end of the month and has been using it for the past 6 mths. Honestly I don't think I'll renew for another year ($40ish?) when there are a lot of other apps available (endless reader series for example) that are educational.

@Mamaof2: I've never used abcmouse, but I really like Starfall. I used it for my lowest students when I taught 2nd grade, and I've seen whole kindergarten classes use it. And bonus--it's free!

Our son uses it at his kindergarten program, and we get a login for home use too. It has been really wonderful and he's obsessed with it. His reading has really skyrocketed since they started.

Honestly, I don't think it's worth the $$. My DD tried it at 2.5 years old and was bored. She LOVES the Endless apps and Bob Books apps though.

We were gifted it when LO turned 2 and she loves it! She's 3 now and she still loves it. It has a lesson plan for your kid to follow that is for their age but my LO just picks what she likes now that she is good at navigating the iPad herself. I like that it has so many games and activities within it. So my LO can work on puzzles and you can change the level of difficulty. They have activities/games for little ones and more difficult ones for older ones. Some examples of the games and activities my LO loves
Rainbow traceables - helps them trace letters (upper and lowercase) numbers and shapes. She has gotten so good at writing by practicing on the iPad. It's similar to how in Montessori they trace textured letters or trace in the sand
Sight words - One she loves is there are a bunch of shrimp with words on them and the flamingo has to catch the shrimp with the correct word
Math skills - again so many for a variety of ages. She loves one where there are leaves on a beach and she has to count them. Then the caterpillar eats some of the leaves and she has to identify how many leaves are left. There's a bowling game that is similar. She has to pick how many pins are left after knocking them over.
coloring and connect the dots to make a picture.
Games where they have to identify letters, colors and numbers. Like bubbles with all different letters and it will tell you to pop all bubbles with the letter "a"
There are read aloud books and songs as well. She loved one lesson about the solar system and now she is really into the planets (knows all the plants in our solar system and all kinds of facts about them and the dwarf planets)
She also does the endless apps and loves those as well. She goes through phases where she's really into the endless apps and then into abcmouse.

Our library has a subscription! The librarian said ABCMouse.com offers free subscriptions to public libraries so if your library doesn't have it, maybe they will add it!

Hm..decided to let DS use star fall, and I guess it's no longer free (or maybe I did a teacher subscription or something.) Seems similar to abcmouse.
ETA: I see, you have access to all the content on-line, but via the app, you have to pay.
