I got a script for this soon after LO was born (he is now 7 weeks). It says only to use it for 2 weeks, but I still have a lot of the stuff well. I wonder if it is OK to use it sparingly here and there, like right now when we nips are scabbed up again 
Anyone else use it and then keep it on hand for use later?

Totally fine to use it sparingly when needed. Just be careful not to use it too much, as the steroids in it can caused thinned skin, which, obviously......ouch!

@maybebaby: agree with the steroid comment...my LC told me to alternate with olive oil or mother love nipple cream as apno can also e very drying

I stopped using it right after my 2nd tube got filled. Even with co-pay it's so expensive I wouldn't throw it out! I've never been told the 2 week thing about it. I still use it here and there if they feel sore.

I've never been told not to use it after two weeks - I've been using mine for weeks and weeks (if not months) on the regular with no drying or anything ... e-mail Dr. Jack Newman about it?

@hilsy85: is the olive oil safe for baby or do you have to wipe it off prior to feeding?

Coconut oil also works really well. The lauric acid promotes healing.
