@drjolene: I may be totally late to the party, but I actually don't think you have O'ed. Unless there has been something off with your temping method or your BBT, I would trust the temps much more than OPKs. I think all you can do is keep charting see what happens.

@winniebee: I'm going to be a total POAS pusher... and will be keeping an eye on you tomorrow.

@HellOnHeels: Sorry to hear Hope next month is your month and you get a Jan 2015 baby!!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@septca: Thanks! I am very happy too! I thought it would take longer! So I tested again last night at 9pm (the one I posted yesterday was from 3pm.) Does this look even more positive? The top is 10pm and the bottom is the one I already posted for comparison. What do you think? I am going to test again this afternoon.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@simplyfelicity: They kind of look the same to me... I think the key would be today's test to see if it's fading! Def BD today too if you can!

@HellOnHeels: O!!! I am so sorry, I really thought you were going to get a BFP still. Jan 2015 Fingers Crossed!!!

@simplyfelicity: The control line is the line with the C next to it right? I would read this as positive for sure.
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@simplyfelicity: They both look positive to me, I bet you will ovulate today or tomorrow.

Regarding trying for baby #2...I thought I would be so much more relaxed about TTC this time around. That happened for precisely one month and I'm in full blown crazy TWW mode. Anyone else going through this?
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@winniebee: @Brawly: @snowjewelz: The test lines look pretty similar but the control line on the one from last night looks a lot lighter. So how do I pinpoint exactly what day I O? Is it the day I get a negative and then the previous day is my O date? Thanks!
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@winniebee: Yes. It's actually been much worse for me this time, for a variety of reasons. Last time around, I was pretty relaxed until about month 6. This time, I know exactly what we are up against so I feel like we are TTC against the clock. Plus, it's *hard* to get the timing right when you have a toddler.
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@HellOnHeels: I am so sorry! I am wishing you all the luck for a 2015 baby!
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@simplyfelicity: Unfortunately, it's more complicated than that. Are you also temping? How are you charting? FF? If so, can you post a link to your chart? I can give a longer answer, but it would help to see your chart first.
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@simplyfelicity: When you're surging (dark line), that means you ovulate soon after so it could be over night or today!
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@septca: Yeah, I feel the same. I just know how much harder it gets with each passing month and I feel like last time we had a hard time TTC and so this time we deserve to have it easier, but I doubt that will be the case. And yes timing is so much more difficult with a toddler...who naps 1.5 hours and gets up at 6:30
hostess / wonderful grape / 20803 posts
@simplyfelicity: For me, I think I ovulated on the second day of my surge, not when the surge was totally over. Because I get super bloated and have pretty bad overall cramps. I have never temped to confirm this, but I am pretty sure that is the case (with my son, my dating ultrasounds were spot on to the day I felt I ovulated).
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@HellOnHeels: I'm so sorry.
@simplyfelicity: That looks positive to me!
@winniebee: That was me! I thought I'd be more carefree about it the second time around, but nope! I was carefree for one month when we were NTNP and then I went into crazy mode!
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@septca: I am actually just using OPKs...Would it be fair to count my O day as the day before I get a negative? So for example, let's say I get a positive again today and then a negative tomorrow. I would count today as my O day. I know it's not precise but even a general answer is fine for me. How long after you O does your LH go down?
cantaloupe / 6634 posts
@winniebee: Thanks for the advice! I really hope I O soon...DH is tired...
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
@simplyfelicity: For example, for me, if you look at my chart (link in my profile), FF says I O'd the day after my positive, so I actually O the day my test is negative. FF says ovulation can be expected within 24 hours of your LH surge.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@simplyfelicity: With my OPKs, FF has me ovulating two days after my positive. You can ovulate anywhere between 12-36 hours from when you see a positive OPK, I believe. So you could ovulate same day or even two days later.
GOLD / pomegranate / 3688 posts
@simplyfelicity: Okay. Here goes. First, it depends on what time of day you are testing. Theoretically, you are supposed to O within 12-36 hours after your *first* + OPK if you test in the afternoon. (The LH surge starts in the morning, so is first detected in the afternoon.) Let's say you got your first + yesterday afternoon, it is very safe to assume you will O today or early tomorrow. BUT if you get your first + with FMU, then your surge started the day before and you are likely to O the day of your first + OPK or early the next day.
Some women have longer LH surges. I only test with FMU and I O the day after my first + OPK. Even if I get 3 days of +s, O is the day after the *first* + OPK. The only test that really matters is the first +, so you don't have to keep testing once you see the +.
If you don't get KU this month, I *highly* recommend that you read TCOYF and start temping next cycle. Even if you only temp for a few months (I stopped after 6 when we were TTC), it can give you SO much information about when you O in relation to + OPK results.
I assume you are watching your CM as well? Most women get watery or EWCM leading up to O... for me, the W/EWCM starts about 6 days before O. Most women also dry up completely at O or O+1, so your CM patterns can also help you pinpoint your O date.
If you use FF (which I recommend), you can set your detector settings to "OPK," and the system will give you an O date based on OPKs and CM using the system I described above.
Finally, start paying attention to your body. Around O, I get heaviness on one side, cramps, sharp O pains, backache, and headaches. The sharp O pains almost always line up with the day after my first + OPK.

@winniebee: My first time TTC I was a nervous wreck... we couldn't get timing down, I was temping only because I couldn't get a positive on OPK's (my timing was off)... and that only took 4 months to get my BFP (which felt like forever at the time). My second time TTC took a whopping two months... i think we had better timing and I had a better understanding that time around. I was and still am only using OPK's w/ no temping... but then I MCd. I thought for certain I would be KU by now, its been 5 months since MC, 3rd month TTC (I had to take a month off due to lack of insurance)... and I'm starting to feel stressed again... which I know makes it worse. I just need to chill... and remember PUPO!!!! PUPO, PUPO, PUPO...

@snowjewelz: @septca: @Adira: Oh my goodness! Thank you, ladies!!! So, should I also BD the first day I get a negative? I really appreciate all of you! I am hoping for a very very obvious positive today!
cherry / 173 posts
@simplyfelicity: I say yes, because the first day I get a neg, is when i am pretty sure I O. But then again I have a short LH surge... I only get a positive in the afternoon and evening and by morning its neg again.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@simplyfelicity: What I did this cycle was once I got a positive OPK, I BD'd that day and the next two days (according to FF, I hate O-2, O-1, and O, but it's possible it's really O-1, O, O+1). I think if you did that, you'd probably be covered. Good luck to you!

Hi ladies. Just wanna say hello then I'll try to catch up on the thread. Having a bit of a challenging day because I had light spotting this morning. I have to admit it shook me up even though I still do feel a lot of strange things that I don't normally feel. My exhaustion is beyond normal. I feel twinges even though I don't really get cramps with AF. I am 6DPO and lately I have been spotting at 7 or 8 DPO the soonest! I hope this is IB! I am pregnant until a test tells me I'm not but I have to admit this spotting has really disrupted my happy thoughts. I am going for acupuncture again tomorrow morning and plan to take it super easy today.
I hope everyone on here is doing well and gearing up for your BFPs. Lots of love!!!

@septca: I second snowjewelz! I know it was hard won and not in fun but you have learned so much and you are always willing to pay it forward which is very bitchin'!
@HellOnHeels: I'm so so so sorry. I hope you have some comforts lines up. I hope we see a baby in your belt soon.
@winniebee: I am so with you on TTC being so surprisingly hard. For me it's harder than the first time and I know I did get a lucky surprise BUT I had months of waiting to try stress compounded by a low AMH test and two small uterine fibroids. I felt really stressed for months before but nothing like this time. I am only on month four but I feel so drained. It's hard. I really hope we all get some relief from this roller coaster this month!

@MrsMccarthy: I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's implantation bleeding!!!! It seems really unlikely that this is signally AF's arrival, given how early it is! Fingers crossed for you!!!

@Brawly: @Adira: I really can't say how much I appreciate you ladies.

@septca: Thank you again. That is so kind of you to spell all that out for me. I will look into that book!
I have been testing in the afternoon. Yesterday was my first day testing so I am not sure how it led up to the positive/semi positive. I was using a different OPK and realized it was faulty so I don't trust the info it gave me.
Does it matter for pm testing if I test at 1pm vs 3pm? I promise this is my last question.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@simplyfelicity: I only did OPKs one cycle, so I ended up testing three times a day because I wasn't sure how long my LH surge would be! I tested at wakeup (around 5:00 a.m., then around 12:30 p.m., and again around 7:00 or 8:00 p.m.). When I got my positive, it was all day (test and control were equal at 5:00 a.m. and then the test was darker at 12:30 and 8:00) and then the next day was negative again.
cherry / 173 posts
@simplyfelicity: My testing schedule is 11a, 2pm, 6pm... sometimes when I am definitely in my surge I test again before I go to bed. I test a lot since my surge is usually so short.
