April Showers; it's raining BFP's! April POAS thread

    @simplyfelicity: opks check your lh surge, not estrogen. However, I don't know if BCP can affect opks, I was never on them!

    @MaryM: you could just have a late implanter in there and your hormones are going up slowly

    @snowjewelz: oh, no at CVS.

    @KelLeeLeee: The ones I got detect the estrogen surge before your LH surge. I am just hoping I have been off BCP long enough that it is a true read.

    @MaryM: oh I hope you just have a late one. It does sound very promising with the spitting but no AF. FX honey.

    @KelLeeLeee: I go back and forth between thinking that it could be a late implanter (I had KILLER back pain all weekend and into yesterday) and wishing AF would just show up already!

    I don't even know which I want more anymore...I just want SOMETHING to happen!

    @simplyfelicity: Order it from Target! I ordered mine online instead of picking it up at the store cause I was too embarrassed lol

    @MaryM: Aww I know, limbo is the worst! I hope the hormones are building up for you and you'll get a positive soon!

    So it was FIVE days later than expected, but AF showed up this morning. I'm actually over it and happy at this point, just because I'm ready to get this next cycle started! But seriously, who has scant spotting for 6 days?!

    I picked up an OPK kit, so I'll have a better idea this upcoming month and should test toward the beginning of May. I'll still be a cheerleader here though too!! FX for all those testing this week!!!

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    @keepcalmcarrie: That was weird, I'm glad at least something happened, but very sorry about AF. Boo! I hope May is the month for you and you get a Jan '15 LO!

    @keepcalmcarrie: that's odd. Maybe a progesterone issue?

    @keepcalmcarrie: strange! Glad you can finally move on.

    @snowjewelz: thanks!

    @littlek: I don't know. I hope not! My cycles have been shorter since LO #1 - around 25 days. I suspected a short LP and started taking B6 this month. This cycle was 30 days, so not too long - but the spotting was weird. I had spotting with previous cycles, around CD22-24, and then AF would arrive CD25. This time, though, the spotting was CD24-29. Something to keep an eye on.

    @winniebee: thanks, me too.

    @keepcalmcarrie: Boo, it sucks to have AF, but so good to be finally out of that limbo period! Good luck this upcoming cycle!!

    Another BFN on a Wondfo with high temp still this AM. Very very scant brown spotting yesterday. Hanging out in limbo with @MaryM. My guess is I ovulated later than FF thinks.

    @keepcalmcarrie: If it keeps up, I would definitely talk to your Gyn/OB.

    @drjolene: FF is super annoying sometimes! Did you get a dotted cross hair or solid?

  21. keepcalmcarrie

    persimmon / 1096 posts

    @littlek: I'm actually waiting on a call back from the nurse now to see if I should schedule an appointment. I had no trouble getting pregnant with LO #1, but reading about low progesterone, I have a lot of the symptoms. I'd rather not wait and see.

    @keepcalmcarrie: Good to be proactive. Hopefully they can get you in soon for some bloodwork tests.

    @simplyfelicity: I REALLY like the cbe advanced. Unfortunately it is so spendy, you can buy the cbe fertility monitor replacement sticks for the reader instead of buying a whole new one every time... its cheaper in the long run but a good chuck of change to put down up front. I have always just bought a whole new 20 test plus device every time. I have like 3 or 4 of them. That way I can keep one in my purse, in the bathroom, at work... etc. Just carry the test sticks. I think you will like it. I have gotten anywhere from one blinky smile face before O to 6 days of blinky face... so just be aware it can change from cycle to cycle.

    These cramps are messing with me... I keep thinking AF is starting (usually if I have cramps, I'm too late and I have ruined a pair of undies). Nothing so far though.

  26. simplyfelicity

    cantaloupe / 6634 posts

    @Brawly: Where can you buy the new sticks? I thought you had to buy the whole kit again. Thanks for the heads up!

    I know it is kinda silly because it's not like it is a BFP but I am so glad that my body is regulating itself so soon after BCP. I might actually have a shot this month! I looked it up and the hormones from BCP are out of your system after 2 days (which is why you can get KU after skipping pills.) I haven't been one it for nearly three weeks, so maybe the jumping smile is a positive sign. I was only on it for 5 months and super regular before but I was afraid it would take a long time to O again.

  29. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    @simplyfelicity: I actually never thought that I might not O after BCP (I was on it for a decade!), but the question was more when!

    @Brawly: If I ignored my faint positive I got on 10 DPO, I had cramps on 13 DPO, they day I got a BFP! The were slightly different than AF cramps though. They were lower.

  30. simplyfelicity

    cantaloupe / 6634 posts

    @snowjewelz: I should say, I knew I would O eventually. I am just glad that I got the pre O estrogen surge which shows that I will be O-ing in a couple of days (presumably.) This would put my cycle back to where it was before I got on BCP. I am glad I have a shot this month.

  31. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    @simplyfelicity: You always have a shot, every month My first cycle off BCP was actually 1 day shorter! But then they got longer.

  32. simplyfelicity

    cantaloupe / 6634 posts

    @snowjewelz: I know. You just hear stories of women not having periods or ovulating for months after they end BCP. I know it's silly to be excited by an estrogen surge, but I will take what I can get.

    Dotted lines, and 2 days of OPK+ after FF pinpoints O. And my temps have been crazy this month.

    @simplyfelicity: This is the cheapest I have found, the rate fluctuates sometimes daily but still the cheapest. I was in Walgreens this weekend and they had them for $75. http://www.amazon.com/Clearblue-Easy-Fertility-Monitor-Sticks/dp/B004AIC7EU/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1396973952&sr=8-1&keywords=clearblue+fertility+monitor+test+sticks

    @snowjewelz: I started getting mine at 5dpo (I had lots that day) 6 dpo was a little less and today has been less still but today they have been a little stronger. Hopefully its little Pascal burrowing in there and being a little sticky baby!! fingers crossed!!!

    @drjolene: Yeah, your temps have been all over the place! That definitely makes it hard to figure out! I'm going to cross my fingers that it's a late implantation and you'll see your BFP soon!

  39. snowjewelz

    wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts

    @drjolene: Wow you are so diligent about your notes! I think you might have O'd CD 26 or 27, after the + OPKs? Since you O'd on CD17 last time too. And it's good news that it's 13 DPO and no AF like last time! The temps are wacky but seems like you're def still in the running!

  40. drjolene

    cherry / 107 posts

    @snowjewelz: I like "diligent" better than "anal retentive" or "obsessive" which are my usual terms for it lol. I'm very scientifically-minded and like to look for patterns in minute symptoms based on where my hormones should be at that time, so I can get to know my body better.
