DH and I haven't talked about this yet, but I'm pretty sure we're going to be financing their undergrad education. If they go on to grad school it'll be on their dime!

We plan to pay for undergrad. Grad too if we can. I was saddled with huge student loan payments after grad school and if I can I hope to eliminate that burden for our kids.

Yes. College is non-negotiable and we don't want to financially burden LO with full college costs, especially since those costs can delay other life choices (working in non-profits or other lower salary fields, buying a home, traveling, etc.). She'll be expected to apply for scholarships, but I wouldn't ever count on that money to be there.

We hope to be able to pay for our children's education and will save with that intention. There's no telling what our financial situation will be at that point or what tuition will be like when our kids are ready for school though so it's a bit up in the air. We will also expect our kids to apply for scholarships and meet certain standards while in college (we are NOT okay with paying for college as an excuse for them to party).
Also, if they choose not to go to college we'd like to make things even someone when they are at a point in their life where they can be responsible with the money and use it for something like a house.

We're planning on saving up enough money to send them to a state school, most likely. If they get into Harvard or Yale and decide to go, great! But they'll have to take out loans.

I do hope to pay for our children's college costs whenever that time comes... I financed my undergrad almost entirely on my own. My mom did one small parent loan, and I was fortunate to have a few scholarships and grants, but I still have a LOT of loans to pay off; I feel like I'll be paying it forever.
My husband on the the hand only has maybe $3k of loans left (we went to the same school) because his parents took care of everything else. I hope we'll be able to do that for our kids!

Yup, most likely (assuming we can afford it, of course). We'll still encourage them to apply for scholarships. Grad school, I don't know if we would pay for...we'll cross that bridge when we get to it.

Part of it. If they get...
A: I pay 100%.
B: I pay 75% of the course
C: I pay 50% of the course
D: I pay 25% of the course
F: I pay none.
This is my plan, at least.
I, also, plan on seeing how my kid does in high school and also personality. Maybe they don't want to go to school.
