LO started daycare in February and she'll be in the toddler room by the time Christmas rolls around, so I am thinking maybe I should get something for her infant classroom teachers for Easter? Are you getting your LO's teachers anything?

Nope. They're having a party and I'm sure the teachers will enjoy the treats the parents are buying for the classroom.

No, I don't really think of Easter as a holiday to give things, but also, teacher appreciation week is the first week in May and we're giving (a lot) for that!

@yoursilverlining: Oh perfect! We'll hold off and give them something that week. What do you normally give? I was thinking a card and a $25 Target card for each? And maybe some candy?

@lawbee11: ditto @yoursilverlining: Teacher Appreciation Week in 1st week in May - so we are holding off until then!

They are having a spring party on Friday and we have to bring in food for that.

Second @Smurfette, I'm holding off till Teacher Appreciation week. Which I now realize they probably do b/c some kids are in rooms for 6 months instead of a year...

We are. Two other parents and I are going in together to get each teacher a $50 gift card to Target and a pretty potted plant for spring.

@lawbee11: Well, our daycare has a whole host of activities planned for teach appreciation week, so we don’t really give a set amount, we just contribute to the activities planned. This year there is a breakfast from Panera one day (we’ll give $ to that fund), a Mexican buffet lunch one day (I’m cooking for that one), they are holding a raffle of items where every teacher will get something (so I’ll either donate something the teachers can “win” or donate $ to that fund), and I’ve got to have LO fill out 2 pieces of oaktag as they are making a book for each teacher from the oaktags of the children in their class. Since I’m the class parent, I get (or, have to!) help assemble those books as well.
So, in total, we’ll probably give $20-$30 and cook several big dishes for the Mexican lunch (maybe another $30 in food costs?)
Before I found out all the stuff that was planned we had planned to spend like $25 per teacher (E has 2) and maybe something little like a card and lip balm or lotion or something for the main helpers for her room.

Nope! Didn't realize the first week of May was teacher appreciation week. Good to know! Now I gotta come up with something for that...
