@buttermilk: I just posted something and it didn't show up. I was just looking up some info on it and it says to just eat the core, not the meat or juice .... It has to do with the bromelain found in the core being effective in aiding in implantation. It would only be effective to start eating 5 days after ovulation. Seems a little weird to me I don't know if Ill try it this month but if someone else has maybe heard of it , it could be worth a shot !

@Lugrey508: I've seen the same things about the core of it in the first couple days after O. But I don't know much about it and I've never tried it - I'm allergic to pineapple!

@littlebit doing my best to not worry either way, going to see my GP on the 9th and exhausting DH in the process to keep myself busy lol

@Lugrey508: ooh I might have to look into it! Have you heard of anything else like that to aid in implantation?

@Lugrey508: @buttermilk: I was told to eat pineapple by my fertility acupuncturist. She said to divide the whole pineapple into 5 sections, then eat one piece each day starting with the day you get a positive OPK.
It didn't work for me, though it could be because I later found out that I'm sensitive to pineapple and it causes inflammation for me.

@Littlebit: they did say if your allergic to pineapple to refrain from eating and I thought to myself, hmm I never thought of a pineapple allergy ! I wish I had a cookie allergy. I just baked up a batch... Dark chocolate , cause you know that makes it ok to eat more

@Mrs.Someone: so it's ok to eat the whole thing ? I find the core to be gross ! I'd probably have to throw it In the juicer and try to disguise it.

@babycanuck: I mentioned TTC to my DH today for the first time since I O'd - so 5 days - and he totally groaned. Little jerk. Lol. I'm trying to not overload him with it, but throw me a bone here!!!!

@Lugrey508: It stinks! It's a semi-recent allergy! I'm bummed because my favorite drink was vodka/pineapple!! Unfortunately, every time I eat it my tongue goes numb/tingly/and swells. those cookies sound yummy! Dark chocolate is totally legit in my book!

@buttermilk: I've also seen some ppl say Brazil nuts ? I just don't know how true it is ! But I do love Brazil nuts!! Just not too many they are really high in fat content.

@Littlebit: that does stink , I have a friend that has a similar reaction to strawberries. My DH and I just recently bought a bar! Maybe ill experiment for you and come up with a similar taste pineapple free haha I love a challenge.

@Lugrey508: Yep, eat the whole thing. I found the core was easy to eat when it had the yummy pulp attached.

@Lugrey508: Never heard of pineapple core but think I'm gonna pass on that one, LOL! The thought of eating pineapple core sounds gross!

@Littlebit: Do you have that reaction to any other fruits? I have the same issue - it's called Oral Allergy Syndrome. My allergist actually pointed me to the Wikipedia article for it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oral_allergy_syndrome Basically, as long as I take an antihistamine in the morning (Zyrtec, Benadryl, Claritin...), I don't have any reaction to fruits. He said there's a difference between deathly allergy and just an annoyance. He said the tingling/itchiness is an annoyance and that I'd know if it was anything worse!

@LindsayInNY: Not that I know of, I'm a big fruit eater! So far it's just the pineapple. Thanks for the link to wiki...I need to read up on it!
@Lugrey508: That's awesome!! I've always thought it would be so cool to own a bar!

@Littlebit: If it's annoying more so than anything (not getting worse, etc.), try taking an antihistamine before to see what happens! Do you have outdoor allergies? That's usually the connection.
