    One question, that doesn't seem worth starting a thread on. I've used two OPK's so far- one last night when I got them, after drinking lots of water etc, and one this morning with first pee. I would have assumed the second would be darker, but it's not. It's actually a lot lighter. The control line is also lighter, but even considering just darkness relative to the control line it's lighter. Would you (meaning anyone who has used them more than me) consider that a fluke, or did I maybe O early? My cycles used to be very set but I'm only in my second cycle after m/c so things could still be wonky.

    @LizSmith: You should not use OPKs with your first pee (unlike HPTs). LH usually starts to show up in your pee later in the day.

    @LizSmith: Ditto what @pui: said! A lot test OPKs in the afternoon, I did mine in the evening.

    @LizSmith: best time to use them is the afternoon. Just don't drink anything for 2-3 hours and hold your pee for that long too.

    @pui: I had 3 positive days in a row in May and that was my bfp cycle.

    @Smurfette: @LindsayInNY: Thanks!

    This is just a confusing cycle. AF was way lighter than usual (and more of the bright red of cutting myself than the slightly darker I'm used to), and now I'm only on CD15 but if I didn't know that I would swear AF is right around the corner again. Feel so PMS-y. And I did take an HPT last night (since they came with the OPK's and I was taking one of those), definitely negative. I know m/c can make things weird, but this is more than I expected.

    Also, took two more opk's since finding out mornings aren't best, and both are definitely lighter than yesterday (possibly lighter than this morning). I have no idea. Gonna take more tomorrow. But, we've been BDing every other day since saturday, so I assume we're covered even if I O'd early.

    This is getting so frustrating. CD40, 12DPO, no AF and another BFN.

    ETA - Tested about an hour ago. Fairly certain I noticed spotting just now. Seriously, AF, just get on with it.

    @LindsayInNY: Did your opks show an LH surge this month? This is the second longest cycle you have had right?

  16. pui

    @LindsayInNY: That sucks so hard. I hate long, messed up cycles.

  17. LindsayInNY

    bananas / 9229 posts

    @Claire.Peonies: OPKs showed a surge around CD21 but temp don't have sustained rise until CD28. I had a 40-something and 60-something day cycle when I first came off BC. Past three have been totally normal and consistent though. I don't know whats going on. (Peed again now and nothing...)

    I'm 14 days since the slip-up so I figured if not now then it's probably going to be that way.

    @supernovaj congratulations! how exciting

    @lindsayinny it ain't over til it's over!

    the hubs and i had our first BD of this cycle yesterday. trying the every other day thing this month. last month we did every day and no luck. we might have even done a little more than every day! we were very...into it haha. i was completely obsessed with the whole ttc last month. analyzing every little symptom. i certainly came away from it wondering how in the world i could possibly sustain mulitple months like this. i know the chances are slim each month but honestly part of me is like "what?? how could it not work? i ovulated, we did the deed! soooo where's the BFP?"

    but ive noticed a different this month already. not really obsessing. i srsly cannot handle that again. just want to relax and if it happens, it happens. it's not even the best time for us to be trying right now. we're in the middle of a move from nyc to philly, but due to some recent health issues with my MIL, we've decided to push up the date. but that's another story.

    last week i POAS at 11dpo. gonna try 12dpo this time. i really want to minimize seeing any false negatives, but since my luteal phase is 16 days, i can't wait that long to know!!! think 12dpo is a good compromise?

    good luck to everyone!

    @pui: You can put me down for POAS Aug. 17th I got bloodwork done because AF was super late and well that came back negative, but mu nurse said my progestrone levels show thay I either just ovulated, or AF was right around the corner soooo if no AF I'm suppose to test on the 17th......lol this is soooo ctazy I'd almost just rather know and move on, but what is another 2ww ?!?!?!

    Well the spotting has begun so AF should be here in full force later today or by tomorrow. CD41, 13DPO. So at least my LP lengthened a little. I won't be doing B6 next cycle though. I'm wondering if that caused some problems this cycle. Officially the first September POASer cause of these long cycles...
