So I'm going to start sending baby cereal mixed with apple sauce to daycare for DS. (7 mo)
Will it keep in the fridge for a couple hours or would I have to send it unmixed?

We send creal and jarred prunes separately. Other parents bring food pre-mixed and it's kept in the fridge. The teachers stir the food prior to serving and even warm it up on top of the bottle warmer if need be.

It will be more mushy than if it were just mixed, but your LO likely won't care/notice.

We would send in a full box of cereal, then send in the puree daily to have them mix in. The teachers suggested doing it this way, and it worked well. On the very occasional day that LO was extra hungry, they made some extra with water.

I mix mine. Specifically what I do is make a big batch of berry sauce (a jar of applesauce, 4 bananas, a bag of frozen blueberries and 1.5 cups of cereal) in the food processor, freeze it in giant ice cube trays, pop out the cubes and put them in a ziplock, and send one cube a day in a little container. It defrosts by lunch time and the texture is fine. If you want the Amazon links for the 3oz ice cubes, let me know.

Is it different then just sending tubs of the baby food jarred breakfasts? Like the Gerber blended oatmeal with pears or rice cereal with mango?

The jars are unopened so they arenter going to go bad....I was worried mixed cereal might. But we've been mixing at home & it's going well!
