Hi all --
anyone recommend any of those baby food prep machines I keep seeing at BuyBuyBaby/Babies R Us???
I know I could just steam veggies myself in a pot - and puree-wise our blender isn't very good, but my Cuisinart Food Processor is, it's just huge and I'm wondering if one of these mini food prep things works better??
Honestly, I think one of these just might make making his food easier, but maybe its a waste.

I always made decent sized batches and love using my food processor so I found I didn't have a use for a small food processor. Does yours have a small bowl attachment? That's what I used if the batch was smaller.

@hellobeeboston: my friend used the Breeza and liked it.
That being said I agree that it's not necessary. If you're determined to do it you will regardless of the equipment. M was really only on purees for about a month...how long do you plan to do purees?

@regberadaisy: @hellobeeboston: this too - I only made her purees for a few months. I think you could get by without it if you don't want another appliance taking up space in your kitchen.

@hellobeeboston: In the beginning I really wanted to get something like that but in the end it turns out i prefer making big batches of baby food so its easier to just bake in the oven or steam in a big pan. then I used my cheaper Osterizer blender to blend it and it comes out great!

Oh good point --- I guess the purée stage doesn't last very long right? A month or two? Until 8/9 months?
Ok maybe Sundays ill just do big batches for the week.

It was much easier to do big batches and freeze in smaller servings. I used ice cube trays, but there are trays and containers out there specifically designed for portioning baby food. That way I always had a variety of things in the freezer and he didn't need to eat the same thing every day. The puree stage is so short, I don't think it's worth buying a new appliance.

@kiddosc: I @hellobeeboston: I used the mumi and bubi trays they are great for baby food although you can use them for other things too.
