Did bananas make your baby constipated? Does anyone know why bananas cause constipation? I would have never thought so. Did all of introduce banana in combination with another fruit? Or did some of you just introduce banana on its own and not have any trouble?
I am considering maybe mixing it with my homemade oatmeal?

She became constipated after we introduced solids so at that point I cut out bananas (and rice, bread and apples) until she became regular again. I think it's the potassium or something that is binding?
Now she has an apple/banana pancake every morning for breakfast and has had no problems with constipation in a long while.

My LO is 11 months next week and we've cut out bananas entirely. It's sad because she loves them, but they definitely make her constipated.

We did BLW, so it was so cute to share a banana with her! It was one of my favorite snacks for her.

Bananas are "binding" and make the poo harder to come out. That is why docs tell you to eat them when you have diarrhea. They still constipate my toddler if she eats too much of it. I give her other fruits and bananas only occasionally.

@Mrsbells: We do give her prunes (sometimes whole, sometimes mixed in yogurt or oatmeal) and pears, so I think that definitely helps. We just haven't found that perfect balance yet! I do still give her little bites of banana from time to time.
I definitely wouldn't rule out banana. Your LO may not have any problem with it! Maybe just start with a little and add more as long as your LO stays "regular."
