Everyone (and I mean everyone) keeps telling me that once you bring your baby in your bed, you will NEVER get him out. I know it will take some training and I am willing to deal with it.
Did you try and move your LO into a crib and fail? Did you try again later? At what age did you move LO out of your bed?

I call bs on never being able to move them out. Maybe after a certain age it's an issue, but we coslept a lot during the first few months and at 4 months our son sleeps in his crib almost all the time... though sometimes we'll bring him into bed in the early morning if he's having trouble going back to sleep.

I'm transitioning her now. It's hard because since she can crawl, she HATES confinement-walker,jumperoo, anything that stops her, no go. She does well when I rock her to sleep though. I think she would do better if I just left her instead of when she wakes up, bringing her with us because I miss her.LOL But it's early in the morning though, so it's almost day.LOL

With DS it took 3 months to fully transition him to his crib (we started at 9 months). He'd sleep from 7pm-12am in his crib and the rest of the morning in my bed, then he'd sleep an extra hour every couple of weeks. By 12 months he started to sleep until 5am in his crib and has been waking up at that time ever since!
But I don't regret co-sleeping. He never slept very well on his own before 9 months old and sleeping together was the only way we could both function throughout the day since his longest sleep stretches were next to me.

Starting around 3 months, we started putting DD in her crib for naps and at the beginning of the night; I'd just transfer her to our bed when we went to sleep. When we decided she'd be better off in her crib full-time (around 11 months), she adjusted immediately without any issues. Right now, we co-sleep with DS (he's 3 months) but he's been napping in his crib and starting out the night in his crib since 2 weeks old. We might end up transitioning him to his crib full time in the next few months due to other sleep issues (he likes to get up for the day around 4 am!), but I don't think we'll have any issues with him either.
I really think it has more to do with the child's individual temperment; if I've learned anything from parenthood, it's there is no standard, lol.

LO came into our bed around 7 months because she hated her crib (she slept in her swing before but then got too big). We tried a few time but she just hated the crib with a passion. Then my husband got to a stressful point and we didn't want to make any big change then we moved and traveled and moved again so it was easier being able to sleep with her in the same bed then carry a crib with us everywhere. But now we have a toddler railing up and she loves her bed in her own room, she still ends up in bed with us a few hours a night but that's more out of my habit, she's 13 months now and since we put up her toddler bed it's been a pretty easy transition (except on my part, I have trouble sleeping without her now).

Not true! We co-slept with my son the first few months, then I transitioned him to his crib (not a problem), then when he started waking up in the middle of the night, we just slept with him on a floor mattress in his room. Now, he sleeps on his own totally fine and (knock on wood), actually looks forward to sleeping. When it's nap time or bed time, he throws his Mickey doll and blanket on the bed, plops down and starts babbling until he falls asleep. Sometimes he'll walk to his room and point to his bed when he's tired. My husband and I both think he likes to sleep because he has positive associations with sleep. Man.... I hope that never changes!!!! I'm enjoying it while it lasts!!!
