I am not a huge fan of sleeping with my baby, but what can I say -- it happens. Especially now that she's going through post 4-month sleep issues and wants to nurse throughout the early morning. Usually I pull her into bed to feed her and then we both fall asleep.

What I want to know is, do those of you who bedshare with a baby (accidentally, occasionally or purposefully) really follow all the guidelines for doing so? Sleeping without covers and pillows, using a guardrail and all that business? Do you keep the baby on one side of you and your husband on the other side, like some say you should?

When I sleep with my baby, I keep her away from the pillows and I kind of scrunch down so my head is next to her head, and wrap myself around her in a little L, figuring that way I won't pull the cover up over BOTH of our heads. But no way can I sleep without any covers... it's FREEZING in our house at night. And sometimes I have her on one side and sometimes the other, depending on what side I'm nursing from.
