Whats your favorite high chair? We are starting solids soon and need help. We do have a smaller eating space but we don't need something specifically designed for small spaces. We want something that will grow with LO and last for the next babies! Price is not that important.

I like the Joovy. It folds away nicely and takes apart completely for cleaning.

We got the Stokke Tripp Trapp. LO isn't here yet but my BFF has the same one and we've used it at her house. I love that it blends in better with the rest of our furniture, it pulls up to the table to allow LO to interact while eating, it's strong enough to hold an adult (I've sat in it for a whole meal), and it's built to last.

I bought the Svan and I already regret it. I had gone back and forth between the Boon flair and the Svan and ended up getting the Svan for dirt cheap...While it meets your criteria (its really compact and fits nicely in our extremely tiny house-plus it looks nice...and it grows with baby) I would not recommend it! I've already lost two screws (and wouldn't you know, its a special screw length) AND gotten a splinter. I would like to think for a $200+ high chair you wouldn't have to worry about the wood splintering, but I guess I was wrong. I would recommend putting the svan on the "do not buy" list

Ikea Antilop- I wasn't willing to spend much on it, and I wanted something easy to clean. I take it outside and hose it off!

@MamaMoose: I love that chair!! My nanny LO's use that chair.
Only problem is that most babies cannot sit up when they start solids, even if you start at 6 mos. So they wouldn't be able to eat there until they're more like 9 mos old.
DS is 6 months and not sitting up yet, and he still has a hard time even in just the stroller (without the car seat) or his chicco clip on high chair. It's easier to feed him in the bouncer chair or bumbo - which if you have one is a possibility until you can use the stokke.

@Coco Bee: we're getting the infant kit for the Tripp Trapp and we also have a bumbo with a play tray. So hopefully we'll be able to get through the limited period between when we start solids and when baby can sit up unassisted.

We got an IKEA antilop for free, and LO is 4 months old and sits in it at our table (it is an IKEA table, and it is like the table is a perfect 'tray' for it). (Maybe we'll buy a real tray for it). He's just eating toys right now, but I'm thinking we might not have to buy anything else. Loving the simplicity of it. -
OXO Sprout! Looks nice, grows with your kid, easy to clean, comfy for LO.

@Mrs. Yoyo: do you ever wish you had wheels? I love the oxo in pictures, but I've never used one, I guess I am having trouble imagining not having wheels after using so many with them. Are your floors ok after moving it around or do you lift it up to move it?

@mrs. bird: I lift it to move it if it's going a long distance. It's not heavy, so not a big deal. I put those furniture pads on the bottom of the legs to protect the floor, so no problems there. They also help it slide on hardwood.

@mamamoose @ cocobee : I was thinking the same thing too. DD can kind of sit on her own but not at all like the pictures show and definitely not for long periods of time.
@mrs. yoyo : I was just looking at that online! looks great and I don't need one that rolls either. How is it to clean? Is it that easy just to wipe down? I hope so!

We have Stokke Tripp Trapp. We started using it when LO was 6 months. She started solids at 5 months in her bumbo and bouncer but by 6 months she was pretty capable of sitting in the high chair.

I wanted the Tripp Trapp, but it's expensive and you need a lot of add ons in order to use it early on. I also don't like that it doesn't have wheels, so it's hard to move. I don't know if it is available in the US, but in Europe you can buy an infant attachment:

I also find it difficult to get my son into it using the plastic seat part. It was the only seat my MIL recommended, but we went and bought something more like a traditional high chair with a tray.
We have a Chicco Polly and a Graco Blossom. I like the Blossom because it also turns into a booster that you can use while the rest of the chair is being used by a younger child.

@anacarlin: it's pretty easy to clean, yup. There aren't a lot of nooks and crannies, thankfully. Just don't let pasta sauce or the like sit on the tray forever, because it can get a bit discolored. That's my only complaint.

I registered for the Fisher Price Healthy Care high chair because it was the cheapest one recommended by Baby Bargains.
