HOLY BALLS do I eat a TON. I don't always find the time to eat every meal, but proportions are def larger than during pregnancy! Once I start eating, it's like my appetite grows and grows!!

I'm 14 weeks out and huge appetite! Plus I'm below pre preg weight! Crazy what bf'ing does!

yup! I'm 11 weeks PP tomorrow and eat like a horse, mainly during the night. during the day I'm so busy that I think it catches up with me at night.

Oh my gosh. I eat more PP now that I am breastfeeding, than I did when I was pregnant.

I was ALWAYS hungry, like seriously never ever got full! And I still kept losing weight. It caught up to me after I stopped...I gained 10 pounds.

I'm nursing my 15 month old on demand STILL, and she demands a LOT. I eat a ton. It's a pain in the ass honestly.

I noticed my appetite is about the same except when he's going through a growth spurt. Then I'm super hungry and thirsty all day.

Oh my god the first weekend home I ate an entire large pizza. By myself. Those first few weeks were very "must have all the foods!!!" It was such a switch from the complete lack of appetite I had when I was pregnant. I still eat more than I ever have but it's calmed down some.

It's weird I thought I would be really hungry while nursing but I'm not! It's kind of nice not feeling like a bottomless pit the way I did during my third tri!

YES! but even more super-thirsty, like pull-over-to-get-a-giant-Sprite-from-McD's thirsty and in normal life, that's something I would never, ever do!

@rachiecakes: yes, the thirst has been insane! Like if I don't have water when I need it I feel like I might pass out.

Those first couple months I was hungry ALL THE TIME! It has regulated though over time.

I get super thirsty. It's like the second she latches on my mouth goes dry and I need water STAT. Honestly though I'm not super hungry. My first week post partum my mom and husband had to fight with me and force me to eat. I had absolutely zero interest in food. Now that I'm 2.5 weeks pp eating isn't such a chore but I do have to remind myself to do it. The good news is that I was below pre preg weight by 10 days post partum. Can't wait until I'm cleared to work out so I can tone this flab up!

I wasn't hungry as often as I was while pregnant but I could PACK IT AWAY while BF. Ate HUGE meals.

I used to be so hungry all the time. Once I had two plates of pasta for dinner and still felt like I had eaten nothing!

I have been SO hungry since coming home and breastfeeding!
It was worse in the beginning -- the first 3 or 4 weeks I was eating all of the time, including overnight! It's tapered off since and I'm not as starving now.

@winniebee: exactly, forced myself to eat while pregnant, but ravenous while breastfeeding. Super thirsty too!

I had no appetite for about 3 or 4 weeks PP, now I'm back to my old self!

I'm always hungry but have to watch because I am not one of the lucky women who loses weight while BF. I am starting to watch what I'm eating and focusing on healthier foods which seems to help with the always hungry thing.

Especially those first three months? I was starving all the time! I swore I was going to need to attach a feed bag to myself when I went back to work!!

No appetite and not thirsty but I know both are important so I'm trying to drink and eat more to help with my supply
honeydew / 7488 posts
Yes! I was so hungry that I would frequently eat 2 lunches at work. An early lunch and a late lunch! I should have probably controlled myself a little better..
honeydew / 7687 posts
I was so hungry the first week my stomach woke me up to eat more than the baby did! I've always been a big water drinker but am more diligent about always refilling now and in our third week hunger has calmed down. Thank goodness.
