Okay this is a silly question but I am really not sure. Is a birth ball the same as a regular exercise ball? Can I just buy one from any fitness store?

We did. I liked the Natural Fitness exercise ball (the burst resistant one). I was skeptical that pet hair wouldn't stick to it but it really doesn't. We have 2 dogs so I didn't want to be sitting on a rubber ball that has dog fur stuck to it.

Thanks for the responses. I bought a fitness ball yesterday and it definitely feels great to just sit on it sometimes and do some basic exercises

I'm still torn whether to purchase one or not? Is it really worthwhile?

I loved mine, one of the best purchases, especially towards the end. I would sit on it to watch TV, practicing rolling my hips. We also used it for an embarrassingly long time to get our son to sleep, the bouncing action just knocked the kid out.

Yeah I sit on my ball a lot and it really does make a difference. Just sitting on provides better support for your uterus than sitting on a regular chair.
