For the babies drinking breast milk. How many ounces and how often is daycare giving your baby a bottle? How old is your baby.
We're on day 2 of daycare and trying to work out how often they should offer and how much. I had brought in an extra bag on Tuesday. I I thought they didn't use it but turns out they did. So looks like we might be short today.

I'll start this out by saying I had so supplement from the beginning...
I sent 4-3 oz bottles to daycare when she first went back (at 12 weeks). Soon after, it went to 3.5 oz bottles and now we're at 4 oz.

DS has had a nanny until now, but is starting daycare next week - we plan to send the same amount of milk as he has been getting at home.
DS is 6 months old, he gets a 6oz bottle of BM every 3 hours, which is 3 bottles.

I'm gone 7 AM to 5:30 PM - he has 3 bottles each a little shy of 6 ounces each. He nurses 2 times outside out that (6 AM and 6:30 PM). He STTN ( ... when he's not going through this stupid 4 month regression.... ). It's great they will keep frozen on hand for you! Our daycare won't.

When he started at 12 weeks I sent 4 bottles with 4 ounces each. A week after that they asked me to bring in more but I don't produce that much milk so now he gets 4 5 ounces bottles and it's a combination of BM and formula.

I supplement and am paranoid about both wasting breastmilk (I don't care about wasting formula) and LO not having enough. Lo is at her center from about 9-2:45; I send her with 2 3 oz bottles of bm and 2 5 oz bottles of formula; usually she comes home with one of the bottles unused, sometimes 2 unused

@BabyBoecksMom: thats right about where we are. She's 15 weeks and for now needs 3-4 bottles at 3 Oz each.
@LBee: I know! Can't believe how fast it's going. 4m regression? Lalalalalal can't hear you. 
they have a mini fridge and I just threw a bag in the freezer and let them know it was there. LOL
@nana87: I supplemented with dd1 and thankfully daycare was really great about letting me keep a tub there. If I didn't bring in enough BM they would mix formula.

@regberadaisy: I think at that age, LO 1 was taking a 3.5 oz bottle every 3 hours.

Kelly's mom is a great resource for this. I believe (this is from memory but I know it can be googled) that babies need 1.5 - 2 oz (could be 1 to 1.5) per hour they are away from mom. So it isn't much. How that is divided depends on the kid, the parent and the school. There are many threads on here how the teachers often don't know how breastmilk is different than formula and are often used to formula feeding. Kelly's mom is great for helping them.
