I saw a notice posted that if you are trying to reach family/friends TEXT THEM! It takes up less bandwith and will get through faster with everyone trying to use their phones!

I had no idea this was going on, until I read this post just 5 minutes ago...so sad.

The UK media is reporting that a device has been found? I guess that does make it a bombing.

@mrs. bird: @banana: Thank you. Just talked to my mom and everyone is OK. I was PANICKED because I tracked her and she crossed the finish line at 2:34 but I guess they were out of the area within the 15 minutes until the explosion.

@Mrs. Jacks: If you've seen the videos, it appears that the runners are all safe, and the spectators are the ones who may have been affected. If your friend runs slower than 4 hours then they are probably away from the finish line. I hope you hear something soon.

They're saying 22 people are hurt now. I hope everyone's friends and family are okay! The pictures are horrifying!
@zippylef: About 20 minutes ago I heard that another device was found in a hotel but I haven't seen that since.
And CNN just reported that two people are dead. So sad.

My heart was in my throat, one of my mentors from high school ran today, thankfully he and his wife are both ok. Sounds strange, but I'm grateful for the injuries that have been plaguing him so it kept him out of harm's way. Been stalking his facebook page until his daughter updated. Thinking of those affected, can't believe something like this could happen.

@highwire: Yeah, DH is a military bomb tech and we've been talking about it. He said the ball bearings are there purely for frag and to do more damage.

This makes me sick to my stomach...
Thankfully, my sister (a spectator) was smart enough to text me from a friends phone since her's died. Can't find her friend as a runner though (not in system).

@zippylef: they're also reporting a third but aren't commenting on where it was and how it was set off, apparently the BPD took care of it.

My family is ok. My brother was at the scene of the explosion and ran for his life. We were watching 3 miles up the road. I'm still shaking over an hour later.
