@mrs. wagon: 95 seems to take foreverrr from my house (I go backroads to Legacy through Brighton)
ah - I just mapped it going 95 from my house, 42 minutes without traffic! crazy, right? Pike to 93 is 31 minutes without traffic. It's only 17 miles away! hahaha

@rachiecakes: Yeah I'm worried about 93 too-- it seems to suck no matter what time or day I try it. I got stuck in stopped traffic on the bridge coming south into the city at 39 weeks pregnant and started having contractions. I really thought I might need to call for a police escort to the hospital! Luckily it didn't come to that but I avoided 93 after that.
Since I'm already south of the city, I think 93S is still going to be my best option. Bleh.

@Foodnerd81: hahaha DH gets soo crazy with traffic, he gets so angry. I don't like it either but, eh, what are you going to do? move it yourself? haha
It can take me 20 minutes to an hour + to get to Braintree/Quincy depending on the time of day!

@mrs. wagon: @JoJoGirl: Wait - really avoid 93?? Is that going North or South or does it matter? Because 93S is 60 miles of my drive... If I really do need to avoid it - where should I get off? Should I take 93S to 95S and go around the city? Or do I need to avoid more of 93S and take US-3S to 95S?

I still can't believe there are 33 people! maybe some people voted 2x? did we do a roll call? lol.

@Adira: it's a necessary evil I think you'll be fine. And it's a Sunday morning, not summer, should be okay.
I drive a mile to work every day and have 9 traffic lights. If I hit all red, it takes me 15 minutes (could walk there faster, if there were sidewalks), if I hit all green it takes less than 5 minutes. Boston is nuts! hehe
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@sorrycharlie: I think it's more likely 17 people - I voted for both (1st choice one and willing to attend the others). I'm sure most people did that too. But still - 17 people is a lot!
@rachiecakes: I mean.... I can take 95S if that makes more sense... it'll just add 10 minutes to my drive, so I need to plan accordingly!! I've never had too much issue driving into Boston via 93S before, but maybe it's because of the times I was driving or where I was going.
wonderful cherry / 21504 posts
@sorrycharlie: I think a lot of people voted twice. I voted for my first choice and all the willing to attends, since it didn't matter too much for me.
@Adira: I feel like 93 is just totally hit or miss. Maybe check the traffic before you leave. I had to take it to work if I drove and I could be home in 20 min or an hour and 15 minutes. And I was only on it for like, 3 miles. So I usually took the T.

Oh and I can't promise to be there by 11, with C's naps, but I'll be there!

@Adira: @Foodnerd81: ohhh doh. that makes sense. haha! 17 is still good though. will be so fun!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Foodnerd81: Maybe I'll just take 95S to be on the safe side.
Anyone have warnings against taking 95S?
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@rachiecakes: yeouch!! Yeah, the only alternative I can think of is to go locally but then you're cutting through all the really complicated parts... and all the 'ways... jamaicaway, riverway, etc... blech!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@Adira: 93S should be totally fine until you pass through the city. I've had horrible luck on 93 both north and south bound going from the city to the 95/93 split.

@mrs. wagon: I've learned that you can't win with Boston roadways (and try to plan accordingly!) haha

I'll be there with my bump! Although ill prob be late since Sunday is my only day to sleep in
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@mrs. wagon: So would you advise taking 93S to 95S and going that way? Will add ~10 minutes, but maybe save me in a lot of traffic?
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
@Adira: I forget where you are coming from??
I also just wanted to bump this and remind everyone-- this is NEXT Sunday, not this Sunday! I went into this weekend thinking it was this Sunday!! It is not in 2 days... it's in 9!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@mrs. wagon: I'm an hour north of Boston!
ETA: So adding 10 minutes isn't huge in the grand scheme of things. It's the difference between an hour and 5 minute drive and an hour and 15 minute drive.

Well, first man down I don't think I'm going to be able to make it after all..

This is random but does anyone coming need:
- post partum supplies (giant pads, mesh undies)
- target brand size 2 diapers (about a dozen)
- Pampers baby dry size 1 (about a dozen)
I have open packages of all of these so I can't donate but I hate to just throw them in a landfill. The two diaper types irritated C's bum but I know other people like the brands. Happy to bring then on Sunday if so!

We have guests in town so I won't be able to make it this time
Sad face because I was excited to live close enough to participate for once! Oh well, maybe I'll make the next one and have a baby to bring instead of just a bump
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@OldEnglandMama: Sorry to hear you won't be able to make it, but with it being so close to the holidays, I'm not surprised!! Hopefully you can make the next one!
