@Adira: yeppers. L does not like to sit politely in my lap anymore. She'd rather find a brick to chew on. Baby friendly is a big plus for me.

@bpcmarj: You also mentioned that Legacy Place was good for you. Would the Watertown location still work for you?

Any bees going that don't have a LO yet? Mines still cooking, but I'd love to meet some mom friends!

@mrs. wagon: remember for the first meetup we were playing around the idea of going to that place? yeah, i know, super descriptive. LOL. but i remember you had contacted them to see if we could do a group there - cannot remember the name for the life of me. wonder if that's still a possibility, or no?

    @sorrycharlie: @mrs. wagon: Isis Parenting?

@Adira: yes! that is it! i know nothing about it though lol

@Adira: Watertown is fine...and you are all right that babies are MUCH more mobile this time, so I am sure she would love the playground idea.

@sorrycharlie: @Adira: yes... I contacted them and they were going to try and see if they could staff the center for a meetup for us, and after contacting them many times I never heard back a final answer.

  9. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@mrs. wagon: Would it be worth it to try again? Or should we just stick with the Watertown Indoor Playspace?

@Adira: @mrs. wagon: Isis has a pretty busy weekend schedule - lots of seminars, classes, etc. They are well attended and pricey (I looked into yoga & newborn classes and they were always sold out) so it's unlikely they'd have the availability for a group like us.

@oliviaoblivia: haha, I was just thinking about bumping this thread! We need to keep it alive to make sure everyone knows about it and doesn't forget!

Also, it sounds like we're leaning towards the Indoor Playground (http://indooroutdoorplayground.com/) in Watertown at 10:30. Does that work for everyone?

I just had a great idea!!

What about meeting at a mall food court?? Specifically one with one of those little play areas??? That way, for people coming without LOs, it's just a mall and it's free, they wouldn't have to go to a playspace and pay $ to get in... people with super little tiny ones can just sit and chat, people with more active bigger little ones can have their kid in the play area (maybe with a SO supervising??) or just walking around and pushing chairs around... and people can get food, coffee, or whatever. And people can come and go as they please.

I know a weekend (especially a cold weather holiday weekend!) it will be crazy and crowded, but I don't think we can avoid that, no matter where we go.

What do you all think?? Maybe the South Shore Plaza in Braintree? I think that will be most easily accessible for all. Not sure about public transportation but it's VERY close to the red line, so there may be buses from red line stops??

Other malls that come to mind: Burlington and Natick. Patriot Place or Legacy Place would be great but there's no central food court area that is indoors and it will be super chilly then.. maybe even snowing!

Ah, I'll be in Boston for a weekend trip then, but we're leaving by Sunday afternoon. Have fun!

Just sitting here watching the Red Sox be awesome and thinking of my Boston bees!

@mrs. wagon: I trust your judgement. I'm up for whatever gets many shining happy bee faces there.

I'm so bummed that I'm missing this by 2 weeks!

  36. Foodnerd81

    wonderful cherry / 21504 posts

@mrs. wagon: I'm up for the food court idea, but I don't know any if the malls well enough to speak to ther play areas or food courts. But south Shore is close to me so that would selfishly be my top choice. C doesn't play so it would certainly work for us. I'll also pay to get into the play gym thing too though if ilder kids are happier there.

I wonder just how crowded it will be the weekend before thanksgiving...

Bumping! So, what's the plan?? I'm fine with the mall or a playspace....

  38. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

I think a mall is a good idea! Then people can do some shopping if they want to and it's not JUST a meetup!

Burlington would be closer to me, but I'm not sure if they have a children's play area (anyone know?). And South Shore has a Nursing Mother's Lounge, which is nice!

  39. bushelandapeck

    pomelo / 5720 posts

BUrlington is closer to me as well but I'm not sure about the playspace options. I would guess there has to be one but I haven't been there in a while...

  40. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@bushelandapeck: I was trying to see if they had one on the mall map they have on-line and I couldn't find it on the map, but someone who's more familiar with the mall might know for sure!
