A few days ago we had some kind of problem with our freezer door and some stuff got kinda defrosted. DH noticed when he grabbed an ice cream out of the freezer and it was somewhat melty. But he didn't think much about it until the next night when the problem had resolved and stuff was back to being fully frozen.
I have about a day or two's worth of breastmilk left in the freezer. We're totally FF now, but I've been saving it in case DS has another stomach bug (which he's had twice) since BM counts as a clear liquid. But now I'm worried that it may have become unfrozen to some extent and I can't know how defrosted it got because everything froze again.
We are moving next week and I was planning on the BM being the only we'd move from the freezer (we'll have no fridge until the next day at the new house) and now I'm not sure what to do with it.
Is it likely to have gone bad? Either way it was still cold the entire time because we only opened the freezer once, and they're all stacked together. Should I defrost some and see if it smells bad? I hate to sacrifice it if I don't need to :(. Should I move it and wait to see if it's actually needed and then defrost it and assess it at that point?
