I have to take a short trip for work (my first night away from DS :sad:) I'm leaving this afternoon and back home by tomorrow night. I'll be pumping while I'm away and I'm not planning to check a bag, can I bring the pumped milk through security? Will it be a problem that there is not a baby with me?

Yep! I did this when I had to travel for work, had no issues. I just asked one of the officers what I needed to pull out once I got to the checkpoint, if I could leave it in my cooler with ice, etc.

It is not a problem to carry on breastmilk, formula, or juice for children. With or without baby present. Coolers and cooling packs are also allowed through security. Here's the TSA guideline for it. http://www.tsa.gov/traveling-formula-breast-milk-and-juice
