Short term: I had staples and had a small (about an inch) area open after I got the staples out. I used neosporin and it healed well.

Long term: I don't really have feeling along my incision scar, but I think that is typical? I don't really need feeling lol so nbd I guess?

I'm only 12 weeks out, but here's my experience so far. I had my incision glued shut and I believe internal stitches that dissolved.

Short term: Everything healed really well and pretty quickly after I was pain free. I did get bad bruising on one side about a week PP but that's normal I guess?

Long term: My incision is still a really angry red color. I'm not sure how long till that will fade. It's also crooked (it was an emergency section) but there's nothing I can do about that. I occasionally have some tenderness when I wear the Moby for a long time or have sex. Mostly pain free though!

Short term: I had staples. They were removed the day I was discharged both times. No problems with the incision healing.

Long term: after my first, I got pregnant at 6 months pp, so nothing felt 'normal' haha. With my second, she will be 1 on Friday and I'm still numb. Other than that, everything is fine.

I had no real issues with my incision but my staples were extremely painful. I felt so much better when I got them out! I had to take Oxycodone to manage my pain while healing for about 10 days though, which is longer than normal I think.

I think it was about 4 or 5 weeks before I felt 100% better. At 9 months pp, I have some weird twinges & pulling sensations. I also have a horrible flap for a stomach.

I had mine glued and internal stitches as well. Mine did open up and get infected. Dh head to stuff mine with gauze too. Plus I took antibiotics. It took me to about 3 1/2months pp til I started to feel "normal."
Almost 12 months pp still tingly and sometimes had this itch that a scratch cannot get rid of and every now and then some random twinges of pain.

Short term: I had internal stitches that dissolved and steri-strips that fell off after about a week. I had more soreness than actual incision pain. If I leaned or twisted funny, it felt like the edges of my incision would "catch" a little and that hurt!

Long term: After the first 6 weeks or so it really didn't bother me. I'm 10 months out and the area of the scar is still sort of numb. If I have pressure directly on the incision scar it feels uncomfortable. And I still sometimes get a pinching feeling at the very ends of my scar when I twist or turn.

I had surgical glue and tape on the outside for a few days. My scar is about 5 inches wide and I do feel numbness in one area. I don't think it's odd to feel some sort of numbness b/c they did cut through 6 layers of me to get to my baby. I had some steroids injected after my second section b/c I had a pretty big scar tissue. It's much better and not raised anymore like it was after I had my first. The weirdness and pulling does go away. I felt weird lying on my belly for a very long time b/c it stretched that area. Now I don't feel anything there anymore.

I had internal stitches but my wound didn't heal for 8 weeks pp. I had to have a home health care nurse come out and take care of it, and the days they didn't come my husband had to change the dressing on it and shove gauze into the open wound with a Q-tip. I had a very slow recovery.

A few months pp, I saw a therapist for some post-partum depression (stemming from C-section) and she said to put Bio-Oil on it. It helped reduce the scarring somewhat and helped me come to terms with it.

Short term: I had internal stitches and glue. I felt like I healed ok within 2 weeks PP, but definitely still had numbness and soreness throughout my 12 week maternity leave.

Long term: I'll get a stabbing pain here and there, but overall, it healed nicely. Barely a scar.

I had dissolvable stitches and butterfly strips. Strips fell off. Incision healed quickly. I had no problems other than soreness on one side where they had to cut more to get LO out of her wedged hiding spot. I described the soreness right after as a slight burning/sunburn feeling at the incision. Never really experienced pain after. I've had no long term issues. I started working out as soon as I was cleared and occasionally still feel a slight pulling sensation when doing a tough workout. My scar is barely visible at all.

Short term: No negative issues (except totally great time to catch a cold... ouch)

Long term: I'm 6 mos pp and the scar looks minimal, a little raised. The area is still a little numb, but no major issues
