A friend loaned me a single, Medela manual pump to take with me on a trip. I'd like to sterilize, but don't want to destroy the pump. Anyone boil the parts for this pump? All parts? I worry about the membrane and stem.

I don't have a Medela manual pump, but I have an Avent one and I know you can boil all the parts to that. For my Medela electric pump, you can definitely boil the membranes and valve.

@Adira: I can boil all of my Medela parts for my PISA, but I am specifically wondering about THIS pump. The parts are so different looking ... On the site, it doesn't say NOT to, but it says to wash with soapy water, and says nothing about boiling.

@littlejoy: Oh, damn, I didn't realize the parts would be so different. My manual Avent has almost all identical parts to my electric Avent. Sorry I can't help you!

What about some microwave sterilizer bags? Those things are great.

@littlejoy: Is it the Harmony? Found the manual for it:

That shows the items that you are supposed to sanitize, which includes boiling.
ETA: Even if it's not the Harmony, if the parts you have are similar, I'd go with these instructions!
