My LO is 10 months old and well on her way to weaning at or before one year. she loves her solids and eats a ton. I was wondering what the harm would be in introducing cows milk early?

We transitioned to WCM at 10 months. We were done BFing and he HATED formula, so it was our alternative option. It worked out great and our doctor didn't say anything about it being bad.

@autumn865: we transitioned around 10 months. Pregnancy dried me up and she hated formula.

We did. At around 10 months I started adding about 1 oz to each 5 oz bottle to get her used to the taste.

Yes I introduced WCM per doctor's ok at 11 months.

I introduced WCM at 11 months because my supply was not keeping up with her demand. It went well. She still didn't start to like milk until she was 18 months old.

@.twist.: @BandDmommy: I've tried formula as well thinking I needed to supplement since she was refusing to BF/ nursing for such short periods but she hated it as well.

@autumn865: Nope, we couldn't get him to drink formula. I was fine with it though. He was super healthy and eating TONS of solids like a champ. He was getting lots of vitamins and nutrients from that.

DS went on nursing strike at 10.5 months so I pumped and supplemented with wcm and formula since my supply dropped.

10 months here too, she would only drink what her brother was drinking, so wcm in a straw cup from that point on.

Our ped recommended that we introduce WCM at 10 months. My pumping supply was dwindling by then anyway. So I stopped pumping at work and we switched to WCM. I still nursed mornings, evenings and weekends. The transition went smoothly, and now I have a 20mo who wears size 3T.
