So.....with this is the second time now that right after my period, my temp has gone up. Does this mean I'm ovulating this early?? Oh and my chart is right, I definitely got my period less than 2 weeks after my last one....:-(

I wonder why FF didn't start a new cycle/chart after the 2nd period? I'm guessing because it was so short, it threw everything off. I would look at your chart as though CD14 is actually CD1. If you do that, your chart looks fine right now. Are you using a BBT and not just a normal thermometer?

@LindsayInNY: Yep you are right, I have no idea why it didn't make a new chart. But I though your temp stayed "low" (which is around 97.3ish for me) until ovulation.....so I considered the 97.7 high. And if you notice that happened on day jan 3rd, and not today the 17th. I was just confused as to why it happened so soon after my period!

@MrsBrewer: Did you have an alcohol last night, or take meds...room warmer that normal? I found that those things (among others) upped my temp.
If it was definitely your period than I have no idea why it wouldn't have made you a new chart, but I'd wait and see what your temp looks like tomorrow...today could easily just be an outlier temp.

@lovehoneybee: No everything was the same. No alcohol or anything either! I woke up at my normal time, and we keep our house at the same temp every night on a schedule!
I will definitely check my temp tomorrow and see if it stays high.
I mean am I doing something wrong with recording my temps? Is there a manual way to make this a new cycle?

Temperatures fluctuate a lot right around your period, and don't usually mean much until a week or so before O. I think its possible that your 2nd period is some sort of O bleeding (since its much shorter), but its not normal, so either way, I think you should talk to your OB.

@Mrs.Someone: My first period on this cycle was induced using Provera to end my 90+ day cycle. I wonder if my 2nd "period" was due to lingering affects.
I have my annual in March, so I will definitely make sure to bring this cycle up and ask my Dr about it. Or if this happens again I will move my appointment up.

@MrsBrewer: Ahh ok, then I suppose thats possible. I would count the 2nd one as the cycle start then? I dunno, this is a tough one.

@Mrs.Someone: I know, I feel completely stumped as well. I think my cycles are still trying to regulate maybe too. I went off BCP in August and I was on it for 10 years straight before that.
I've started to read TCOYF, but I feel like it's geared towards women who have "normal" cycles. and I feel like so far I'm so outside of normal, that it's so hard to even track anything that's going on with my body

@MrsBrewer: I don't know much about Provera but wonder if it's an after effect (the second bleed)?

It's really hard to chart BBT when you take meds. Provera itself increases temps, so I would maybe temp for awhile to get a reference, but not rely on it much.

@Mrs Green Grass: You know I noticed that too, and the entire time when I was on the Provera my temps stayed in the high 97's. I started my dose of Provera between Dec 18th-28th. 10 pills. So I wonder if the Provera/Progesterone was and is still in my system? Looks like I will need to talk to my doctor for sure

I've had bleeding 2 weeks after my period and then gotten another period 2 weeks later. The in between bleeding was actually caused by ovulation, according to my gyno. It was bright red with no clotting and lighter than my real period. I can't remember her explanation, but she said it happens sometimes, and if it's not a regular occurrence, not to worry.
So could your 2nd period be bleeding caused by ovulation, resulting in high temps? Was it a typical period for you?

@IRunForFun: Umm I mean the bleeding was definitely bright red blood. It seemed like a typical period though. Although I didn't have the cramps that are normally there. I was awful moody too right before, DH pointed that one out.
I mean I guess I just assumed that it was a second period right away because of the amount of blood. I was definitely going through a regular tampon ever 4-5 hours. (sorry if that's a little tmi)
I originally thought that it was O bleeding though, but I thought it was just too much to be honest. I always assumed it was more like a spotting type of bleeding. But I could be 100% wrong!

@Snowdrop: Well I will make sure that I update tomorrow morning with my new temperature

So my temp this morning was back down to 97.3. My normal temp. So maybe yesterday was a fluke!!
