I've only been pumping at work for 2 days, so I'm not giving up yet. But I'm a teacher and pumping will be difficult. It may mean doing more work at home. I'm not opposed to giving my LO formula at daycare, but I want to continue to nurse him. Is it possible to not pump at work and still nurse at home? By not pumping at work will my supply dry up?

Very soon after I stopped pumping during work I noticed my supply drop to be honest... It could have been just drying up anyway? LO was 9 months when I stopped the day pump - we are at 10 months and I think we are done, nothing left!
Curious to see what others say -- this could have just been me.

Do you have a hands-free pumping bra? I plan to get some eating/working done while pumping (hopefully!).
I have also had a difficult time pumping this week. There are so many meetings that it's hard to plan around them. I'm hoping when I have a set lunch and planning period that I will be able to schedule more consistently.

I have no advice but I'm interested to see what others have to say as well. I'm also a teacher and going back to work on September 3rd!

I pumped at work til LO was about 10 months and then pretty much stopped but tried to continue one evening and one morning nursing session, but it definitely made a difference in my supply. By that age, it wasn't such a big deal- if he didn't get that much from me, he'd make up for it during the day, but it definitely wasn't a big nutritional source anymore. Also, my supply pretty much dried up after about a month or so of that.

I agree that once she was on solids, it wasn't a big deal to stop pumping and basically let her nurse "for fun" morning/night. If you don't have a solid supply built, it could drop.
Is there any way to even hand express (even if you don't save the milk) about mid day through the day? Even just a bit might help stimulate production.
