I've read that you can't overfeed a breast fed baby.
But I think you can.
I'm pretty sure I overfed my baby a lot in the first few months of her life. The days she ate too much she'd throw up. Oops.

I was wondering the same thing. Sometimes LO spits up a TON, and other days not at all. I wonder if she over eats. Then again she does have reflux so I'm thinking that may have something to do with it too.

Babies don't usually spit up because they are over full. They take in air when feeding and that air needs to escape and baby's muscles in their stomach and throat are still developing and aren't always able to control what comes up and goes down. I wouldn't worry about overfeeding a breastfed baby.

I think a big difference is between spitting up and throwing up.
I agree, you can overfeed to an extent. My LO will sometimes just love to stay latched and suckle while drifting in and out of sleep. Even though she's not eating quickly I'm sure it ads up to more milk than she's used to. I can feel her belly be fuller than it normally is after this.

Apparently my mom just fed me every time I cried. She didn't understand the difference between an "I'm hungry" cry and an "I'm just cranky" cry. I was exclusively breastfed, and I turned into a huge round fatty baby, so maybe it is possible to overfeed.
