B is one month old today. He was 3 weeks early and lost over 10% of his body weight early on. At 7 lbs. 10 oz. he is a tiny little nugget who is only in the 9th percentile for weight.
We have had a ton of BFing issues and since B has an appointment for a tongue tie tomorrow and I have one for thrush/staph on Thursday, my LC said I should bottle feed until we have some answers.
DH has always bottle fed B at night so I can sleep. He used to take around 2-3 oz. each feeding (every 2-3 hours). This week, B graduated up to 3-4 oz each feeding (which seemed like a lot) but the pedi seemed fine with it. However, this morning I fed B his 3 oz and he screamed for more so I gave him the extra ounce. After he finished, he still cried for more! He was screaming and diving towards my boob. I thought maybe he just wanted to suck so I tried his paci with no luck.
I was finally able to dance him to sleep but he is sleeping so restlessly. I feel awful because I don't want him to be hungry but I don't want to overfeed him either.
What should I do?
C is 3 weeks old today, and he has been on a breastmilk bender for the past day! He eats so frequently, I wonder if my supply can keep up. I hope your appointments go well this week!
