In the 7 months that I've been BFing I've only worn underwire two or three times. Each time was only for a couple of hours max and I could feel my ducts clogging. I was in PAIN once they came off. I'd like to wear nice bras and make the girls look good, especially since LO isn't nursing constantly now, but the pain isn't worth it anymore.

I"ve heard that you can, as long as it fits properly and as long as you don't sleep in it.

@Weagle: ha! Seriously, underwire supports the girls so much better..I haven't worn any since pre baby, since all my nursing bras happen to be underwire-less. I miss it!

I was never able to because it hurt!
I lived in soft bras!

I wore them a few times. Ended up cutting all my underwrites out of my cute bras and wearing them

I couldn't wear them either! I lived in Bravado soft/stretchy bras.

I wear under wire nursing bras and haven't had any problem with clogged ducts. I tried to wear the soft cup bras during the day, but they just didn't support me enough.
The LC at the hospital said under wire nursing bras are fine and long as they fit well.

I think I have ducts going all the way back because there's no way I could ever wear underwire. The only ones that give me enough support are nursing sport bras. Luckily Motherhood has ones with thin straps. They are racerback though, so I can't wear most necklines. I wear a lot of cardigans to hide the straps!

I didn't the first month or two but after that I had no problem wearing underwire.

i can only do coobie..underwire gave me blocked ducts > mastitis >> thrush!

I wore them pretty much all day every day since the day my milk came in! I never had an issue. Now to note, I did buy the Medela ones and they were up a size to accommodate for the increase in cup size from the milk but it worked great.
I lived in soft bras!
