DS has never eaten well when I sit on the couch in front of the TV. He always wants to eat again soon after. I feel like he gets distracted. When we bring him out to burp him while watching TV, he usually wakes up, even though we have the volume very low. I thought I heard lots of moms talking about getting through the first month watching DVDs.

Haha, it kind of helps my son eat - he zones out and eats better - otherwise he looks around at every little noise/thing. He's 5 months though and bottle fed.
In the early months, I could nurse him wherever I don't think he knew what was going on!

No, I did at first but I felt like we both did better without the distraction.

Ever since 4 months I can't. The first month I sure could, and I watched more tv than I ever have in my life, as he nursed around the clock and would nurse for so long, it was the only way I could do it!

In the first couple of months, i could nurse her in front of the tv. Sigh, i miss watching tv! Ever since about 3-4 months, i have to be in a quiet room otherwise she will barely eat.

Yep, all the time. He's only recently starting to get distracted but I redirect him back to the boob and most times he continues unless his brother comes and bothers him.

I used to nurse her all the time on the couch/bed in front of the TV, lately (7mos) she gets more easily distracted. If the TV is loud she turns her head.

We're getting to the point (5mos) where nursing in front of the TV doesn't work so well. She get's super distracted. Then again, she gets super distracted pretty much everywhere we nurse these days.

I think up to 3-4 months I spent a lot of time in front of the TV. Afterwards LO would get super distracted so I couldn't have it on anymore.

We were able to continue to nurse by the tv but she is never really positioned where she can see it
