I've washed and sterilized his bottles from yesterday, but they still smell like formula. He's started Alimentum, which is gross and smelly. Is it normal or does it mean that aren't really clean?!

When we used nutramigen I don't remember there being a lingering odor, but it is so strong! I'd maybe do a hand wash, with dawn if you have it, and then call it good!

If the bottles are plastic they could absorb the smell. I would try soaking them in hot water, Dawn dish soap, and vinegar. This is how I cleaned all of our bottles for formula or breast milk - it helps cut oily or powder residue. If that doesn't work, I would just trust they are clean!
