So I just started Clomid last night and I'm curious what other people's experiences are. Did 50mg work for you, or did you have to go to a higher dose?
I'll also be doing an Ovidrel trigger and I'm curious about that too. Does it hurt much? When did you trigger - immediately after an ultrasound, or did the doctor have you wait? Did you test out the trigger so you would know if a positive was real or fake?

I can only comment about testing out the trigger - I've seen from some other people's experiences that you can either wait until you know for sure that the window is over for the trigger to be gone, or you can test daily with something like a Wondfo/IC to watch the fade-out. Keeping my fingers tightly crossed for you!

the first round of Clomid I did was 50mg. it took me foreverrrr to produce follicles, so the next cycle my RE upped it to 100mg. same story with the 100mg, so we upped it to 150mg. i responded much better to higher doses, but some women respond wonderfully to just 50mg. fwiw- i didn't notice any change in side effects from the higher doses.
I did two Clomid+Ovidrel+IUI cycles and I can honestly say the Ovidrel trigger shot did not hurt. Like, at all. It's a very small needle and a very, very quick process actually giving the shot and injecting yourself with the meds. I did it myself; much more comfortable for me than having DH try to do it.
As far as timing goes; I did mine in the evening after having an ultrasound that day. It ended up being approximately 30-36 hrs prior to the scheduled time of my IUI.
I tested out the trigger once, and it was gone by 10DPO, or 9 days after the trigger shot.

@spaniellove: @mintmercury: Thanks for help guys! I'm really glad the ovidrel doesn't hurt. I'm thinking I'll try to do it on myself. Knowing DH he could accidentally be a little too forceful, lol. I also think I'm going to test out the trigger with wondfo's.

50 didn't work well on my first round, so they upped it to 100 which was better. I think I had a trigger (don't know the name), but I felt the ovulation cramps the next morning.

I've been having a lot of ovary pain, hopefully this means 50mg worked.

I did 50 one month with no ovulation, then three successful rounds at 100 with success on each. I got pregnant the fourth round.
I had a lot of side effects. Depression one round. Headaches and craziness another. Ovarian pain each time.

I don't have any knowledge to bestow upon you, but I'll keep my fingers crossed for you! Sounds like if your having ovary pain, the clomid is doing simething!

@MrsCB: haha I just found this super old thread while searching because I'm doing this exact same thing (50mg Clomid & Ovidrel trigger) this cycle! You better believe I'll be asking you all about the trigger shot on Sunday

@Shutterbug: Haha, ask away! BTW, the ovidrel totally doesn't hurt. It was so difficult the first time to get up the courage to stick the needle in, but I couldn't even feel it.

It's been a couples years so I don't remember dosages, etc...I was monitored while on it & the dr game me a specific time to use the Ovidrel. It honestly didn't really hurt, more of a pinch & lil sting. The advice I was given by the nurse which really helped for all my shots was to pinch the area of skin & put it in quickly like a dart. Much easier than slowly pushing it in. Good luck!
