I just left the RE with a prescription for Clomid for this cycles IUI. I have indifferent feelings right now - almost like it hasn't set it? I'm not upset about it or really excited per se? Anyways, provides blood work is okay, I'll start Clomid tonight. I know medications vary for everything (I had no effects from progesterone), but what can I/DH expect from Clomid? I want to prepare for the worst but hope for the best...

My first cycle of clomid I was moody, got headaches, had tender boobs, also I really felt my ovulation. Second cycle was a lot better and I barely noticed any side effects.

I had the worst hot flashes at night about 2days in, it really didn't do much else that was too bad!!!

I didn't really have any side effects to speak of from Clomid, and it helped me get pregnant the first time I took it.

The first time I took it, I had no side effects. It was at the end of my crazy 140 day cycle and it seemed to work (I saw a clear temp rise on my chart and then got my period 10 days later). The second time I took it I was moody and weepy and I don't think it worked at all (My chart was all over the place and I think I O'd, but if I did it was way after Clomid is supposed to be effective).
I took 50mg both times.

My friend took it and she got bad cramps and was moody. She did get pregnant on her first cycle on it.

I don't remember it doing anything to me. It got me ovulating on my own, though

I took 100mg days 3-7 and by 7 I was an emotional wreck, biatch with severe migraines and hot flashes. Days 3-5 were painless.
When I was just on 50, it had zero side effects (well DH said I was hotter to the touch).
Oh and my first cycle on 100mg wasn't as bad as the 2nd. The 2nd cycle on 100mg made me tell my re "never again." -
I was moody/emotional on Clomid...but maybe that's just where I was in terms of coping with IF? No physical symptoms while I was taking it, but I remember having a lot more awareness of my ovaries/ovulation pain. The trigger injection made me feel really thirsty, though!

Maybe this is strange coincidence:
- the months I did not conceive on clomid I was a moody bitch (I couldn't stand myself) and had every damn side effect under the sun (bloating, headaches, etc)
- the two times I successfully conceived I did not have many side effects. With Chloe I was dry, with this baby I had tons of CM.
- the month I had my chemical pregnancy, I had tons of icky side effectsAll times I could feel the stimulation & felt ovulation pain.

@FaithFertility: oh gosh I forgot the hot flashes! Yep have those too. Ugh I blocked those out.

I think I'll take everything but the mood swings, if I can help it! DH and I have declared this my year of the butterfly and any extreme moodiness might ruin that...

I've taken 4 rounds of Clomid, 2 at 50 and 2 at 100mg, and have not had any side effects.

I just got a clomid prescription yesterday, too! I have to take 10 days of progesterone first, to induce my period, and then i'll start taking 5mg of clomid days 3-7

I was moody and had a migraine. I did better in Femera.

I have done three rounds of 50mg of Clomid. My most frequent side effect was that I was VERY emotional. I would cry at almost anything. I also had hot flashes, especially at night, and breast tenderness. I took it CD 3-7. Good luck!!!!

@LindsayInNY: makes sense. I've heard all variations. My re was going to start me on cd 1-5 next cycle but DH and I are just over Clomid entirely and we will be on vacation and ain't no way in hell am I taking Clomid in my most anticipated vacation of the year!

I took it two cycles (50mg, then 100mg) and was very moody both times (crying for no reason often) and had bad headaches and hot flashes during the night. I'd end up sleeping naked on top of the sheets and was still hot. All of these things only lasted a few days each month, though. But I hated Clomid! But it IS worth it if it works for you.
And some lucky women have no side effects, so hopefully that'll be you! -
I'm on my first cycle of Clomid (took 50 mg CD 3-7) and had no side effects. I have been known to have a roller coaster of emotions in general, so I was concerned about going totally crazy on Clomid. I was also traveling while I started it, and I'm a super anxious traveler, which I was afraid would make everything even worse. But I didn't notice any side effects at all. I'm currently CD16 and I *think* 1DPO.
I have a good friend who conceived on her first cycle of 50 mg Clomid, and she had no side effects. I've adopted her as my fertility god
For me, the anticipation of how I would feel on the Clomid was much worse than the actual drug. I hope it works the first time for you! -

I had hot flashes, night sweats, weight gain, and I was a lunatic. It might not have been all the clomid's fault though, I'm still a lunatic sometimes. Thanks IF
