Just curious what side effects any Bees have experienced on Clomid, particularly after finishing the pills. Anyone experienced headaches, nausea or dizziness, even a day or more after finishing the medication? Thanks for your input!

No real side effects, especially after I finished the prescription. While I took it I got a couple hot flashes and maybe a headache, but I am prone to then.

I had headaches, bloating and mood swings well after the last pill. It was like the pill that just kept on giving. No hot flashes, but I did experience minor heartburn as well.

I had nausea, headaches and dizziness the one time I had to take it. I had taken Femera in the past but my new RE wanted me to do a Clomid challenge to see how my body reacted on meds. With the dizziness, I told my RE that I didn't like it and that I preferred Femera and he said that was fine. I did not like the Clomid side effects at all.
I had the dizziness feeling while taking the meds. I believe it went away when I stopped taking it. I just remember feeling dizzy and having to take another dose.

I didn't have any side effects during or after. Except I did notice an increase in my sex drive just before O

Headaches, vomiting, body aches, exhaustion like crazy and horrible hot flashes.

I had hot flashes (mostly at night, but some during the day). I also felt like crying a lot. I remember one Saturday where I sat at home and cried almost all day long. DH was beside himself trying to make me feel better, but I just couldn't. Other than those, I didn't really experience any others.

Bad hot flashes, headaches and very, very weepy. Would cry all the time for no reason. Can't remember how long the effects lasted, though.

I finished up mine last Sunday and I was a hot mess. I was very cranky (could also have been attributed to jet lag), and had headaches and was pretty light headed a good portion of the day. Honestly, there was a day or two where I just felt rotten. But, I knew it would be yucky going into it (I had taken it once before 3 years ago), so I anticipated not feeling my best.

@bluestriped bee: How does Femara compare to Clomid in terms of cost? My 5-day Clomid prescription was about $30 this time.

@mrs. pinata: My script of femara for 5 days was less than $3. With clomid I always ended up paying my generic drug copay of $15. I'm not sure if you'll see that much of a difference but I have heard overall it is a less expensive drug.

@TheReelDeal: That's so interesting! So, why do REs tend to prescribe Clomid first rather than Femara? Does anyone know?

@Mrs. Pinata: With my insurance, Clomid was cheaper than Femera, since I don't have IF medical coverage. I guess Clomid was under the list of meds covered and Femera was not. I know Clomid for me was $5 for 5 pills. I forget what the Femera was, I think $25 for 5 pills.
It's all RE preference. I heard Clomid has a higher chance of conceiving multiples. My first clinic's protocol was to go with Femera. I'm glad they did because I was not liking Clomid at all when I took it.
