For the past four or five days DD (15 days old) is up to eat almost every hour during the day - sometimes twice an hour. She's quite the snacker! I usually get some long 2-3 hour stretches at night and late evening, but during the day she's eating soooo often. I want to be feeding her on demand but I also want to make sure she's getting enough hind milk, which I worry she's not getting since some of her frequent feelings are kinda short. My lactation consultant said to try and space her outa bit more as long as she isn't fussing too much, but it feels so mean to deny her!
At her two week appt she was still 4% away from birth weight so I'm a bit obsessed with her feedings. The doc wasn't too worried since she was having the tongue tie issue (now clipped) but she wanted to see us again this Thursday for a weight check and I'm so nervous and feel a lot of pressure to get her back up to weight. Any advice on how to deal with her snacking? Is this just a cluster feeding wave I have to ride or are there any tips for managing it all?
