I admit that this title sounds a lot more dire than my situation actually feels. However, mere days before embarking on my first IVF cycle, I wanted to ask all of you who've either done this before, or are in the middle of it now, two (okay, maybe three) questions:
1) Did you find a part of the experience (or particularly the meds) really emotionally difficult or feel "hormonal" during your cycle? (DH is more worried about this than I am; I figure I'll muddle through...
)
2) Was there anything that really helped you get through the process and feel (especially emotionally) "healthy" during IVF? (I've got a mantra-- ha!-- and plan to stay active, keep a journal, keep in touch with friends, make special time to spend with DH, and above all to focus on doing some things that are both pleasurable and relaxing for me... Maybe a session of counseling???)
3) Do you have any tips on getting through the multiple daily injections? (I'm dreading the intramuscular PIO injections particularly, but the Buzzy website had some really good ideas! http://buzzy4shots.com/adults/howtousebuzzyfor/injections/ )
Mostly, I'm just really excited to get started and hoping that we get our BFP soon! Thanks for any advice, tips, and tricks you can share!
BTW-- here's my mantra, such as it is: "Trust the process."
) experience, I don't seem to experience much in the way of morning sickness...)
) My RE said that side effects would be pretty much exclusively "below the shoulders," which was reassuring to me...but I guess everyone's different and, obviously, IF can be emotionally exhausting! If successful, I have a total of 8 weeks of PIO to look forward to, but I love the suggestion for warming it up a bit and helping it disperse once in. Thank you again!
I was surprised that the number of days for injections was less than what I thought it would be. It was over before I knew it. You'll do great!
